Looks fake to me. For a scanned letter, why is the typing blurred yet the signature is sharp? because it's bollocks.

That and the english used is off way too... "this practice will be even stronger".. wft? get out.. no one says that.

What does it matter if it's real or not? This is not for forumites at the cutting edge of AD and Rolex policy and far more informed than most ADs. This is for those walk ins who know nothing of Rolex, or complete newbies here. All this info was first given out in 2016, people!

When I bought my date black sub last year in Amarillo Texas it had the stickers, I mean, not all of them but it had most of them.

I looked up an AD close by on the Rolex website and there was only one AD in town. The AD stopped selling Rolex on fall last year which seemed strange to me because they had Daytonas, Subs (date and no date) Hulk and Yacht-masters.

I remember asking her if I could get a discount and she told me " how much of a discount you are looking for " I got so nervous that I couldn't come up with a discount - she smiled and said " well, you can pay with cash and get a discount or we can ship it to your home in Florida and you will not pay taxes. I told her that was a good idea bc I was on a business trip and I didn't have that amount of cash on me at the moment.

Shortly after when I was going to pay for it the lady in the back held the card before making the transaction and asked " we all agree on the price right? " I froze, got nervous again and didn't say anything lol so I ended up paying the watch full price... I know, I suck at negotiating but I was 27 years old when I bought it and I didn't have any experience with ADs.

Not sure if this is a common practice in ADs but maybe Rolex found out they were giving discounts and leaving the stickers on the watch and terminated their business with them.

Ok, now it’s your turn again.

I can do this all day.

On a related note, when i got my 5712 just before the price rise (2 price rises ago), my salesman had to personally vouch for me to the store director in order for me to be able to come home with my certificate of origin. So its not limited to Rolex.
Personally vouched, hmm??...So what would happen if you got caught flipping, they’d have both of you whacked ??

I made my first purchase at an AD last month (SD43) and everything mentioned in this letter was carried out by dealer.

Yes watchwise, they wouldn't sell to him again and nor would Patek in any store, and that would hurt someone like Tyler who has a great relationship that has brought him a lot of hot models.

That's three cases now, so this very old news can be taken as official.

There was also a letter about Rolex e-corner that was recently implemented on retailers website that must contain conspicuous privacy policy that complies with federal and state laws and regulations .That was signed by Gabriel and a Mounia Mechbal vp, communications

I agree on some of the wording being suspect. When I purchased my BLNR 6 months ago, my AD would of let me keep the stickers on. This week, when I picked up my new LVc, they insisted that the stickers had to be removed "per Rolex policy", which was fine, but mildly disappointing. I'm still ok with it as I refuse to pay above MSRP, no matter how bad the waits get.

That just doesn't make sense to me. Everything else seems pretty accurate. No clue.

Just my .02
I also question why the letter wouldn’t be more personalized with each ad’s

name as opposed to a generic “dear rolex ad” greeting.

Doesn’t it seem funny that many are unhappy with the letter, shouldn’t the larger community be happy with this if it’s indeed real as this will benefit the real consumers and collectors. Not unless the 8 out of 10 unhappy ones are flippers in disguise ?

Why are there semicolons after each bullet point phrase, and then a period at the end of the last one?
Incorrect syntax IMO.

It's an acceptable, if fussy, method of bullet-pointing. I prefer no punctuation at the end of the lines, inc. the last, but hey...

Not sure if this is real or not, but I would think ROLEX would put a number somewhere on the memo, like UPDATE 1194, or something that relates to an order of when the letter was issued. I know there is a date on it, but it just doesn't add up to me. Sorry OP

The contents of the letter may well now be in practice, but I think the letter itself is a spoof.

In your post above, the pronoun “it” doesn’t have a clear noun antecedent.

I’m the most grammatically particular person who I know. I’m happy to know that there are others who are similarly idiosyncratic.
Your use of the pronoun “I” does not have a clear noun antecedent. I am not saying I think this is wrong, indeed it would be hard to write in any other way as nobody likes writing in the third person, but I am saying your editor’s rule is an arbitrary personal preference for (perceived) clarity. For me it is clunky and removes the natural free flow of the language.

thank you. content and authenticity of that specific letter are not the same thing

Although the grammar and spelling debate was an unforeseen turn of events, i like it

Sh*t, they are now producing fake Rolex letters. I suggest all future Rolex letters to AD’s should come with box and papers. Also, remember to check the laser etched crown.
