I have been on the list for my wife for a few months but my AD says they have not even seen 1 this yr..

They won’t tell you anything about the configuration via phone. The only option is to send it to the next RSC for authentication. This will take your at least 6 weeks.

My wife got her OP36 pink, after waiting 8 months (March -November) this year. I am a customer with history with my AD. The saleswoman with whom I get on well even told me that I was lucky that it was assigned to me, some are still waiting. So for the update, I would personally say it doesn't look any easier today than it did on release.
