Icon20 I need help with my grandfathers Rolex

Hello!

I am new to any sort of forum postings so bare with me and I hope the pictures come through (in the attachments).

I found an old Rolex watch in my grandfathers belongings that were given to me after his passing. I was thinking about getting it somewhat "restored"/fixed up but I am not sure if this watch is even an original. The broken side button has the rolex crown and the back plate has the rolex sign and code.
But I noticed that the wrist chain seems not to be original but I'm not sure (I know my grandfather liked this one silver chain he used with all of his watches so he might have switched it out himself).

My two goals are the button and the chain but is it even possible fixing the side button without having to change it for a new one? Like just the inside part of the stem? Currently the button is sticking out.
And since the button is broken is it linked to the watch hands not going around anymore? I tried pressing the button down anyways and they did like a full circle motion somehow but then stopped.

My ideal would be this watch just being fixed up as a memory piece but getting it working again would be out of this world.

Thank you in advance!

Get it up and running if it's sentimental to you, which is as it sounds. However, the watch is indeed fake.

I know its sentimental to you but any work performed to it would cost exponentially more than the watch is worth. Its worth less than €1.00 in raw materials. Its very fake, sorry.

I think if you open the back and replace the battery it might run fine.

Throw a new battery in it, get it cleaned up and running. It’s a momento to your family and should be kept up.
