I finally added a 1016 to my modest collection. I overlooked this reference as I chased Subs and GMTs. I finally had the opportunity to try this 36mm beauty, and, Lordy, this is one amazing piece.

Changed it back to the bracelet after having it a while on the rubber B. Rubber looks great but I think i it's still best on the bracelet. What do you guys think? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Explorer looks awesome on a single pass nato-style strap in my opinion.
Here's a picture of my previous MK1 Explorer on a nato where I simply cut off the extra bit of fabric that doubles under the watch, and melted the loose threads with a match. It's not necessary at all on the Explorer, as the fit is so tight between the spring bars and case that there is zero risk of the watch slipping off the strap. It's also nice to not have the watch sit as high on the wrist as with regular natos, and I also think it looks a lot cleaner without the metal retainers. But yeah, the bracelet is fantastic and hard to beat.

Put my Explorer on this Erika's Originals textile strap for the summer. The nylon fabric is quite thick, but the way it's woven allows it to really "breathe" in the heat. The watch just disappears on the wrist, and since it's a single pass-through the watch doesn't get pushed up from the wrist a lot. Supremely comfortable strap!

Exploring, poolside. Just picked up mine from AD a couple of days ago. Love it! Honestly, it and my DJ 41 on jubilee are easily the most comfortable. And I appreciate the ability to have an understated model (along with my Air-King) in the collection.
