What GMT Dial is this?

I know this isn’t a 6542 dial.
But It has a chapter ring as Swiss at 6 O’clock.
Nipple dial for a Rootbeer.
Is this dial legit?
What year would this dial have been made ?
I am very confused as I have been trying to track down one that is similar.

That's what I thought too but I'm no expert.

Not sure if this link would help.

Wrong coronet - the original coronet would not be printed on the GMT 1675/6542 dial - it should be the applied gold coronet.

Right, that is why I didn't think it was 6542.

John, what is your thoughts on this dial. It would be much appreciated.

Ordinarily a vintage dial marked SWISS would denote a service replacement, but the one you showed isn’t original OEM. It has had some refinishing or was made to replicate an early GMT nipple dial. So, no, it is not legit.

I could say when it was “made” - where did you find it, or that image?

The replica maker or refinisher misprinted the script (too low and too close to the central hole) and used poorly fabricated gold hour markers including the inverted triangle at 12.

Original 16753 printed dial shows the differences.

I thought the font was off myself, but figured I would look into it and check with you all here.
I will let my local dealer know it is wrong as it is being sold a legit.

The easiest way to tell is the hand stack of the dial. It's a quick set GMT (16753/16758)

I believe the dial has been determined to either be a replica or restoration.
