AD called, need some advice

Hey guys! Been following the forum for over a year now. Just really have not had to many questions since a lot has already been covered. Until today! My Ad called, told me I have the option to buy a 5726A with the leather/rubber strap. I like the watch and I’m on the list somewhere for other models, but as we all know, it’s a long list and a long wait for the “popular models”. Not to say this is not one of them, I guess I really don’t know. My question is, I like the watch, it’s available to me now, I don’t see myself getting the one I really want for a really long long time, this is about as close as I’m going to get any Nautilus, should I buy? I carry a smart phone with me at all times for work, so really any Nautilus would work, but was looking for a steel bracelet preferably. Seems like anything in blue is also a longer wait. Also, I have other watches that I rotate weekly, so I really don’t care for resale value or flipping, I don’t have any plans for that now or foreseeable future, but also not trying to take a dive as soon as I walk out the store with it. It’s a expensive hobby for some of us, so just want to make a smart choice. This would be my second Patek, I have a Aquanaut 5168G-001 that I got earlier in the year. Thanks for any advice guys!

There is really only one main question to answer, do you like the piece? Would you choose it?

Secondary question, would taking it mean you couldn’t take the piece you really prefer should it become available?

Personally I would always hold out for the piece you really want.

It’s a lot of money. If you don’t want it don’t buy it. If you want it buy it.

I do like it, and no, it will not remove me from the “list” but I just don’t when I will have another opportunity to buy a Nautilus at retail. I also never buy grey, as of yet.

I have always said... A Naut on a strap is not a Naut. Pass and wait for the one you want on bracelet

If you think the wait will be over a year I would buy this and enjoy it as a stop gap, if less then a year then I'd probably wait, as time is an important factor to me now, more so than money really.

I would wait and get the watch you actually want, it is a considerable amount of money to spend on a watch you don't really want. Also, the strap models are much easier to obtain if you change your mind in the future.

The 5726a on strap is a really impressive and comfortable watch.

You are lucky to get the chance to buy one.

It's elegant and quite practical with the composite strap.

I loved it when I had it and sold it for a 5711a as I felt I was missing out.

The 5711 bracelet didn't fit my wrist and the whole watch felt thin compared to the more substantial 5726a.

Only you can decide if you like the more restrained and sober but very classy colour scheme and if it suits your lifestyle but I wish I had never sold it!

Prefer the bracelet but I would take this in the mean time. Who knows when the next naut will appear. At least it’s steel lol

I understand these calls aren't frequent, but I think there's a difference between liking and loving a watch. I'd like pretty much any Nautilus, but I would love a complicated /1A Nautilus because I have a 5167 that I can put on a strap. So if I were offered a strap model before a bracelet model, I'd have to begrudgingly pass. Even though its a great watch, it sounds like you would be "settling" because you seem to want the bracelet version.

For me, a Naut must be in a bracelet. Only Aquas on strap.

Just bought the same watch and initially had a bit of hesitation because, well it’s not on a bracelet. In the end it’s a gorgeous piece and most definitely a nautilus- even if not on bracelet. Will be adding the rubber B strap to this shortly and will likely end up replacing my 116519LN.

I own 5726A and I can tell you it's a gorgeous piece. I actually chose it over the bracelet version a few years ago and never look back. Good luck with your choice.

If you buy retail price at AD, buy it; it’s a good movement and with Patek brand. If you buy through grey market resellers; at premium; I think price correction is happening. It may be difficult to resell at the price you paid for; if you need the money urgently in near future.
In long term it’s hard to see; price may stay there ; move down or up - no one can predict; but for sure now the price correction is happening. Dealers try to offload at 10% off the August height and find difficulties getting serious offer.

Fill the gap. Buy it whilst waiting for the bracelet version. If funds no issue.

Buy it. Put a rubber B on it and flex it. Simple

Agree. Wear it while you wait for bracelet. Trade it in or something when bracelet arrives.

I’d pass. It’s a lot of money and that’s the one Nautilus I wouldn’t stretch for.

Or buy it, whatevs. It’s only what $50k? $55k? Peanuts on Planet Nautilus.

the way PP is so popular right now, its ok to buy it now and worry about it later. it will sell if you don't like it and if its a Nautilus line chances are you will earn!

Well all rational thinking went out the window once I tried it on! This is exactly why I don’t go down those dark alley’s with the red lights outside the doors, lol. I’m really happy with the purchase!

Buy it, immediately flip for massive profit, then buy a gray market 5711 for little money out of pocket given the profit you’ll make.
