Where to verify a Panerai
I live in the South on the Gulf Coast. I bought a 270 and wanting to make sure its real. Where can I go or do I have to ship somewhere to find out? Thanks for any help.

Steve. You can post some detailed pics here and some of the eagle eyed posters will give you their thoughts.

A 270 is hard to fake. The movement is a giveaway. Does it last 10 days? Does the second hand reset to zero on setting the time? Does it wind buttery smooth? Does the PR indicator scroll when winding and go down 1 tick each day?
If fakers can fake the movement on this watch, they might as well start up a reputable watch company on their own.

If your still skeptical take it to a local Panerai AD, they can more then likely take a peak @ it too verify...But they do make some great replicas these days , but as Mik said it's not likely any1 can duplicate that mvmnt & it's functions...

I'm not sure how the jump hand should work with the dual timezone. Can anyone here comment on how the hour hands work with GMT?
Another check is the quick stra change system. Does it all lock up perfectly tight? There will be no wiggling at all. |
