Fort Lauderdale Area: Restaurants?

Hi all,

Wife and I are heading to FT Lauderdale on Friday for a few days. A work and play trip. I am doing a presentation at a conference but will have plenty of free time. We are staying at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa.

Any suggestions for restaurants, activities, or any good vintage watch shops close by?

Thank you for any input

i spend a lot of time down there. my favorites are:

Blue Moon Fish Co, Canyon, Greek Islands, Casa D'Angelo

all fantastic fantastic restaurants. blue moon is quintessential Ft Lauderdale. head over to las olas if you are looking for the busy, upscale tourist scene. some busy places to have a drink and people watch.

Daoud's has some vintage Rolex. Have never bought anything in there, so pls proceed with caution but possibly worth a look.

Another vote for anything on Las Olas.

Elbo Room for a great bar by the beach.

You guys are awesome. Thank you so much for the help. Told the wife I was going to post up the question on the Rolex Forums and she just gave me a funny look... I told her she would be surprised by how helpful and knowledgeable our community is. You do not disappoint. 👍🏻
We are looking forward to the beach 💪🏼

Elbo Room....Used to go there in the 80's!

Grew up?in FtL. Haven't lived there in 20 years. Make semi annual visits.
Cafe Martorano is special. Used to enjoy Cafe Maxx(Maxx group had many great places). South Beach isn't far away.
Prime 112 or Prime Italian there(S Beach, great meal but very expensive)
Las Olas Blvd has many great places!

Also,S Fl is great to look for cars, watches,or at people!

I had dinner at Anthony's Runway last year. It was an "interesting" experience. Very good for people watching. And you're right, their Happy Hour is excellent.
Overall, it was like stepping back in time.
I'd go back.

OK, so after the fancy smanchy stuff you will need a late night or day time ice cream or big burger. Just a few miles South of FLL airport is Jaxsons Ice Cream in Davey.http://jaxsonsicecream.com/full-menu/ Been around since 50's for good reason.

Don't forget to browse the great selection of penny and nostalgia candy they sell.

I was there a few months ago, ate at the following places:

Casa d'Angelo (at at the one in Boca Raton)
Two George's (also in Boca) Right on the waterway, nice outside casual and inexpensive
JB's on the Beach (Boca) Great Brunch

If you get to Miami, I had INCREDIBLE Italian food at Perricone's.

For a beautiful dinner overlooking the ocean try CASA BLANCA.... Great food and the best view around.

On las Olas if you want Tapas style food with great outdoor atmosphere try SWEET NECTAR and across the street is a really hip delicious restaurant called LOUIE BOSSI.

BOKAMPERS is great upscale bar food (huge sports bar) and the biggest oysters I have ever eaten.

I second GREEK ISLAND for amazing Greek food.

I am a local and thats where I eat :)

Seasonal local here:

We gave up on Blue Moon a few years ago but based on above perhaps its changed.
Kaluz is very nice.
Capital Grill in Galleria Mall is excellent food & service. Don't let the mall location turn you off. Mayors Rolex is in same mall and Daouds across the street.
For small local "on the beach" try Anglins Beach Cafe in Lauderdale by the Sea.

Enjoy your trip.

There are world class restaurants in Ft.L.
There are great places to see things expensive and quality.
Great shopping from elite(Bal Harbour)to quality outlets(Sawgrass Mills has major outlets like Prada,Zegna and Armani).

Enjoy S Fla.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. We walked the strip tonight and tried a few of the touristy spots for fun. Nothing great, but a beautiful night to walk the beach line as the sun was setting.
We will venture out tomorrow and try some of the suggested locations.
Enjoying a cigar on the patio.
