Flight Delay: Tire Change

I have an important meeting with my CIO in a few hours. Our plane got delayed because they need to change a tire.

I guess I rather hear that while boarding vs mid-flight. Lol.

Better to be down here wishing you were up there than up there wishing you were down here.

At least you didn't have to wait in the aircraft while they changed the tire.

Happened to me once - about 45mins to get a mechanic, change the tire and sign all the FAA forms.

Hope this delay wasn't too long after. At least you've got more freedom there

You can land it without a tire, its the takeoff thats the problem.

I was on a Delta flight from Miami to NYC. As we were boarding, we were told that they needed to replace a tire. They had to fly one in from Atlanta so it took 4 hours!

MIA is a major hub for AA. I can't believe they do not have some sort of agreement with other airlines that would allow them to pull a tire out of AA service and repay it with the new tire that was en route.

BTW - I think I have the same Jack Spade bag

One hour but it was a good thing. I had a chance to walk around and stretch my legs unlike those who boarded before me.

In the moment that I wrote that first post, I just couldn't visualize that.

I just kept getting visuals of bumper jacks and those horrible things that pass for jacks on cars these days.

I'm going through a waxed canvas bag phase right now. I really like the Jack Spade slim laptop bags.

Same lol, I had to look it up. I did see two Lufthansa guys do this on the Discovery channel many years back but only thought of it after.
