Whats with Green subs lately?

All of a sudden no AD's have any. Is there a high demand overseas?

Actually, when I picked up my SD at the AD the other day, they had just got a shipment in consisting of the SD, a black D500, and an LV-C. I thought about snapping up the LV-C along with the SD, but it was already spoken for. Hmm...

Turns out, the Daytona was too.

If you came to the UK with that Haul, Larry, they would make you King.

I like the sound of that.

As it stands, I felt very fortunate to be walking out of there with one of the three.

Interesting to see the price trend outlined in this thread. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=399334

Looking at the trend of asked prices across forums, asked prices are up by around USD1k i the past 2 months

The green sub, is one of the type of watch that looks great by itself, better on a wrist, but still not for me. That being said, my AD had one a couple weeks ago.

I have to admit, I bought my LVC almost three years ago not only because i simply loved it, but because I welcomed the rumors of discontinuation as a good excuse to buy.

It's never possible to know exactly what's going on with Rolex, but I will say, there have been some strange secondary market price hikes as well as reports of low stock.

Maybe this is it for the fan favorite Hulk!?

I watched the trend of the LVc with all our trusted sellers the last 6 months before I purchased mine from David. They have been getting significantly more rare the last 6 months. I watched and watched and as soon as DavidSW posted up a NIB LVc. I purchased it within 20 minutes of it being posted. That said, he hasnt got more than one or 2 NIB since. He just got in 2 LVc pre owned last week and both were gone within a few hours even at a raised price point. Prices are going up on the secondary market that reflect their limited supply. My local Rolex dealer has only got 1 LVc in over the past 2 years yet has 2 BLNR in the case. The LVc has become the white elephant and its popularity is growing significantly. This is very impressive for a new release but amazing staying power for a watch that has been out for 7 years. Currently DavidSW has every color faced new SS Daytonas for sale and no LVc. I have been in the Rolex game long enough to remember before the SS Daytona shortage days and this is how it looked before it went crazy.

I waited to long...it was next on the list but ended up grabbing something else. Now the used prices are way up.

Combination of people like it and rolex failing to impress with new models. Youll see an offload of them if rolex loses its mind and releases a gmt 2 c in ss with coke bezel.

I bought a brand new LVc from DavidSW less than a month ago. I told him I wanted it before mid-August prior to my departure for vacation. Had it in hand in 8 days. This was several weeks after I started seeing threads here at TRF regarding speculations that the LVc was to be discontinued and that there is/was to be an impending price hike across all Rolex models. Paid $9050, just like I would have from my AD. Got warranty card with my name on it shipped straight from a US AD. This happened during a timeframe in which I wasn't seeing any LVc's on the DSW website. Moreover, Takuya and I exchanged some messages and he told me he could have the LVc in 2 weeks (a slightly longer time frame) for $8650 delivered. I went with DavidSW because I spoke to him first.

IMHO, before we panic about discontinuation or anything else, it is very worth it to simply call and ask a trusted seller to see what they can come up with. I get the sense that where there's a will, there's a way.

I've heard from multiple credible sources now that Rolex is limiting production of the LVC, with plans to discontinue it in the next year or so. It makes perfect sense for them to do this. This is how they create hype and demand.

As far as discontinuation yes, no one knows until we know. As far as limited supply, it's happening. Not saying it can't come back to a higher distribution, but as of right now it's definitely been much harder to get. I've not only heard this from AD sales reps but also trusted sellers.

The secondary market is also showing this.

I bought my LVC BNIB about 2.5 years ago for $7800. 1 year ago I bought my aunt one for $8025. Right now trusted sellers are asking almost MSRP.

I agree that prices have gone up in ADs and TS. But how to determine if supply is less or demand is more ?
Quantifying the demand is very hard and no-one really measure it. Regarding supply I think ADs know

Doubtful. They are still around the Southern US and I don't see them cutting production. Just me but I'm not Mr Rolex.
