The hype around the 5522 is more than PP could ever afford in taking out a spread in the FT!
The problem with the 5975 is the dial is insanely busy.

Let's face it, the 5522 is a modern classic and destined to be highly collectible for centuries to come.

I heard they are moving the Mona Lisa and mounting a 5522 on the wall instead.

Lol...yes...50% of the buyers are doing so solely to flip!!! As I mentioned earlier never seen so many ex PP owners dashing to AD's to revive old relationships!!

Yes on the 5975 but it also had a different price point which thinned out the herd!! I don't think you can give the J away!! However if I had a choice between 5875G abd 5170G I would go for the former (personal choice)

Bad idea, unless the change corresponds with an appropriate increase in security

Wow that's a bold call. I remember reading the article on the 175th references and wishing the dial was less busy.

I'm just glad the genius designers at Patek were able to make a true masterpiece like the 5522.

I just sent my AD 3 cases of '78 Romanee-Conti to ensure my 5522 lands safely in my grasp.

They said thanks but no gurantees!

I would up that offer to 4 cases.

You don't truly have Stealth Wealth until you strap on a 5522. I heard the hottest bars in SF actually require one for entry (applies to men only, after 10 PM on weekends, and must be on a NATO)

Anyway just my Please wear this advice in good health

Too funny... 5522A-001 is the greatest thing since sliced bread. God willing I will receive one this/next week and am over the moon to say the least. If you appreciate Patek, this watch is a keeper, belongs in a well rounded collection and a good memory of a wonderful summer in NYC during the Patek Exhibition.

They could have accepted an offer for 40K. We have no idea what they got for it

I would speculate that for the next 6 months the 5522's will be available at marked-up prices as the flippers and some disenchanted buyers sell them off. After they fall into the hands of the collectors, they will become extremely rare and hard to find. Then they will probably command a 6 figure amount.

By then you won't be able to find them. They will all be used in the plutonium reactors of the space ship Enterprise.

I looked at the menu, and almost all of the food items were below $20. Shameful to the Geneva Seal -- I hope you covered your 5522 with your sleeve while you were there.

Agreed. You can't treat some paint on canvas the same way you'd treat a priceless piece of horological history
