Patek Saturday

Was hanging around the house today with some time to kill, and realized I had six of my PP out of the safe deposit box at the same time (and realized I better get some back to the bank Monday morning).... so I thought why not a group pic?

Fantastic collection. But I never understood this keeping the watches in the bank thing. What if you want to wear one and you can't. What if you want to play with one but you can't. Because they are in the bank and the bank is closed now. In this case do you really own the watch if you can't enjoy it whenever you want?

I have a safe at home.

Congrats on a very nice collection of watches. Do you have any Patek watches not shown in your posted pics?

I have a safe at the house also, but I currently have 100+ watches in my collection, and can only wear one at a time. The more valuable pieces I like to keep at the bank, bringing our 2/3 at a time to wear.

Nice collection.

Definitely a couple in there I would love to be able to afford hopefully in the future.

Wow! What other higher end brands do you collect and do you have more of one brand than the others? Out of 100 watches I would think more than 12 from one company wouldn't be out of the norm.

Very nice PP collection. Very diverse.

Thanks Alford78, I have watches from PP, Rolex, IWC, PAM, Omega, Zenith, D&S, RGM, Hamilton, Elgin, TAG, Breitling and assorted others. I do have multiples from some companies, but Rolex has the largest representation in my collection totaling 28 presently.

Thanks for the reply on the scope of your collection! Very cool to see some of those lower key names assorted with some big dogs.

One question that I'm sure can vary from large collector to large collector but how do you tend to the watches' maintenance needs when talking 100 plus watches. I've always been a collector in general. Started off with coins, then arrowheads, then sports cards, then memorabilia, then guns and knives, and finally got into watches. Some other unique items were also collected over the years but for the most part only maintenance issues I ever had to worry about were keeping the guns and knives oiled and cards/memorabilia protected.

With watches, which I'm fairly new to, it's a little different being that movements "can" be ruined accidentally in a number of different ways unlike anything else I've ever collected. I'm sure many different approaches are taken with sizable collections but just curious how you approach this.

Bests
Alex

Wow, very nice collection. I also like to see the Gondolo in there. I am considering adding a Gondolo to my collection as well. How much wrist time does yours get?
