5522A is amazing!

I was finally able to see the 5522a (time only) at my Patek AD... WHAT A WATCH! I never really liked it until handling it in person!

No, I wasn't able to add it to my collection, I was there to pick up the new JLC Master date (sector dial), so I just couldn't swing another purchase!

Anyone able to grab one yet? I'd love to see some wristshots!

I assume it was for another client?

Congrats on the JLC

Just check the active topics. Plenty of pics of the 5522

I put my order in today. I like it but wish it had pushers, a second time zone function, and maybe a round date display.

Just kidding given all of the stress on here (except that I did order one).

Looks great to me!

Lastly I am relatively new to TRF and certainly prone to respond if I feel provoked. My apologies for contributing to any less than gentlemanly conduct. It is nice to be surrounded by a community of watch enthusiast. I will personally try to give people the benefit of the doubt going forward. No promises made however if trolled:)

I was just called and my 5522 is at the AD with my name on the papers. Not bragging as some might say, just excited to have one as a reminder to the exhibit I attended.

Congratulations, Kevin! It’s a great watch, and it found an even better home.

And it was nothing to do with the watch. I can see the relevance in a car thread, but pictures of Ferraris don't have a lot to do with the 5522, that's all. We might as well post pdfs of bank statements and declare a final winner.

Oh good lord- jealous much?

Pictures of Ferraris have plenty to do when someone on the thread is specifically talking about said Ferrari.

I'd say Ferrari is the 5522 of cars.

Oh I don't think we need any of that, if to declare a final winner it is clearly Roger by many miles, and he doesn't need to post a bank Statement, when you get 2 of the same AP ROO tourbs one in PT and one in RG, ok there are minor differences, or when you have in a single incoming 2-5270's, a 5271 and a 5970, plus many other watches, well it's pretty clear. If we needed to crown a king here Roger would have ZERO competition

Jealous - definitely not.

I have plenty of money, no debt whatsoever, and no need or desire to make any more money. I retired very comfortably in August at the age of 55 after a 32 year career working as a hospital consultant ("attending physician" in US parlance). I now have the choice whether or not to take on further paid work and suspend my pension payments for a period. Here in the UK we have a shortage of doctors, so there is no shortage of opportunities, and I've recently been offered a job in my new location (I'm moving in to a new house soon). I will probably take it up, but purely for my own interest, and to keep my brain active, rather than for the salary.

If I decide to take up this post, I have literally no idea what I will do with the extra money (possibly buy another silly watch), but one thing I wouldn't do is buy a Ferrari as I'm more of a fan of other cars, and I think Ferraris are a little on the ostentatious side.

One fine day you will realise that there are things in life which are far more important than money, so long as you have enough, and there many very important things which no amount of money can buy.

It was a comment on the crass ostentatious display of wealth, seen quite often on the internet. If any of us here are feeling insecure about how we compare with one another, take a step back, and try a five-minute look at these websites, particularly the third one. Then examine your conscience.

Oh, the irony.

Who’s bragging now? What are you going to do with all that extra money?

OK. Some would call that bragging, but clearly you don’t see that. Maybe it’s a genuine problem what you will do.

probably not true, considering there are tens of thousands of people who post on this site -- and many more who lurk

Thank you for providing personal information about your professional status and affluence in order to create context as to why you find people who post about their status and affluence "hideous" and "ostentatious". I only use these terms because you state that you don't view them to be personal in nature.

Bringing out the worst in people is not an endearing trait.

The 5522 is amazing. If you wear it in the pool it doesn't get wet, the pool gets 5522.
