Lol some of you guys are nuts with the scratches. I’d definitely recommend a G-Shock for those of you that obsessed and just save the Rolex for special occasions.
A Rolex Submariner is meant to be worn. It’s going to get swirls and scratches.

I laughed when you said that you thought the sub was made for that. It is made for that, it is not made for todays Rolex owner who buys the name on the dial, not the watch.
It is so obvious that these days people are buying a piece of jewelry instead of a daily watch. Buy a G Shock and save yourself the stroke you are going to have when you get a real ding in the case.

Personally, I'd leave it. There's nothing better than wearing the watch 24/7 and letting it develop scratches, they're just meant to happen. Each one tells some sort of story. You may bang it on the door and then remember something that happened around that time, for example. Polishing or refinishing the brushed parts is honestly just a waste of time and energy.

Leave it be, IMO, the wear and tear gives each watch a unique story. I refuse to polish mine; I consider it the same thing as erasing memories. Would you want to erase memories? I certainly wouldn't.

2nd day into ownership I took my Explorer II to the beach...and yes it did come back in one piece...and I think it's still way too shiny. Life is too short to be worrying about scratches on a watch. Sent from my F8132 using Tapatalk |

A few scratches on the ultimate water tool watch are a small price to pay for playing with your kid in the waves. Nice watch and nice time...enjoy!
