New Peacock!

Very excited to show off my new toy. The dial is lovely, as expected. However, I didn’t expect to be so impressed with the Zaratsu finishing.

This is my first Grand Seiko, and I am very impressed.

Congratulations!
It’s a pity still photos can’t do justice to the glorious lively dial...

Nice! Congrats - maybe it’s me but it seems like the GS is getting more love by the day. I have SBGA387 and could easily add another GS. That one is sharp

The dial is amazing. How do you feel about the thickness of the case? I read it's 14.4m which is on the thicker side

It is definitely in the thicker side, but I don’t mind it at all. But I am used to bigger watches, I frequently wear a JC DSSD.

There were a few comments about the Peacock is going to be available in the US on March 2020, do we have new confirmation of this ?

The model you're referring to is SBGJ235

https://www.grand-seiko.com/us-en/special/sbgj235/

It has been Japan only but is being released in US in March 2020. It's been confirmed

Yes it's not the exact same dial. Thought you were referring to this piece as I saw Ben referred to it as the blue peacock.

The original green peacock was available in the US when it came out I'm pretty sure.

I can’t recall the model# but pretty sure in the past there was a “blue peacock” in the non-US market . The 235 def looks different ... IMO even better and I can’t wait to see this in person in the spring .

Old model was SBGJ231. The SBGJ235 is the new one (same dial) being released in US in March 2020. I confirmed with a local boutique and they said that's when they're getting them. Currently they have a prototype in store

It looks amazing, can't wait to see it in person! The recent dials that GS have been producing are amazing!
