Impulse buy
This little puppy just arrived. I was browsing FB last Friday and saw this at an unbelievably low price... I need another watch like a hole in the head, so not sure if I'll keep or maybe give as a gift to my friend Edy.

Yeah, you can't really go wrong with an impulse Turtle. In the unlikely event that you don't bond, they make great and relatively affordable gifts

Funny thing though... just showed my wife who is very much a watch agnostic, and she said "that's beautiful". Shocked the hell out of me. She has always yawned at a Rolex...

Congratulations John.
Strangely enough, I've been looking at Seikos recently too. The SLA017, SLA019, SLA025, Snowflake or 20th anniversary GS with the blue dial... How do you find them on the wrist? |

I resized bracelet late last night so have only worn this a couple of hours since then. In comparison to my other Seikos (Orange Monster on a Nato and SKX007 on Rubber) this has a lot more heft, but much of that extra weight is because of the relatively chunky bracelet. This is my first Seiko on a bracelet, and I note that this bracelet is wider and thicker than the bracelets on my Rolexes. The watch case is also quite thick, but is in proportion to the bracelet. Having said that, the watch itself is very comfortable, the short lugs and curved case making it feel smaller. I am tempted to experiment with some straps for it, but curious it may feel unbalanced without the bracelet to counterbalance the watch.

This model was my favorite one out of all the SRP's. Uncle Seiko is also coming out with a h-link bracelet for this watch.
