Waiting list for the Omega Speedy Tuesday Ultraman.

Sold out in two hours and I have a feeling that many dealers purchased these to flip. Anyway, I was told that new ones at list price will be out in August so don't pay the $9k Gray's are asking.

You can get on the web waiting list and still has a chance to buy at list price, if there are cancellations and you're next on the list.
Also I believe this time Omega will go through the reservations more thoroughly and cancel those that have been known to list theirs on the web to flip. Check out the last point on this FB post by Robert-Jan Broer himself.

It actually is the new one. Go to the site, sign up for the list and see for yourself.

Yes. It is the new Speedy Tuesday. The Ultraman.
But the waiting list on that page is not a guarantee that you will receive the watch.
Those who've managed to reserve their own numbers during launch (within the first 30 minutes of the launch it was possible to choose a number), will be called first to receive their chosen number when delivery time come. Right now there are 2012 people that already 'owns/reserves' the 2012pcs. Hence it's 'sold out'. No more number available.

In case any of these potential buyers with reserved numbers backed off, or written off from the 'reservation list' due to known flipping, this number then becomes available.
This available number will then be offered to the first person in the 'waiting list'.
If there are only 100 pieces that become available due to these 'cancellations' and Mr. X is the 101th person on the waiting list, then Mr. X can't have the watch.

Missed the allocation but on the wait list. Be interesting how they work out who's the flippa, dealer or collector like me.

Waiting list for the Omega Speedy Tuesday Ultraman.

All I can say is that I still love this one. Hopefully, many of the new ones fall into the hands of those who can enjoy it. I was very fortunate to have one of very own TRF guys help me out with getting mine when I didn’t make the cut for the first one.

Seeing that Ultraman wasn't well known in the US, it was interesting to see it sell out so quickly. Now the question will be, will they hold value even at list after the dust settles (if people did buy just to flip).

Ultraman is largely an Asian phenomenon so ultimately, demand will be driven from Asia over time. Once a famous Chinese or HK actor wears one.. boom.. it’s over.. demand through the roof(my guess).

Omega is going the way of Panerai it seems. They just release the same watch over and over again with minor color changes and eventually the market collapses. Oh well.

Buy a TinTin. Around 1500 made. Super cool. Somewhat affordable for now.

Thought I read somewhere that it has a slightly thinner case, which is appealing me. However, I can't find the exact thickness to verify. Anyone know?

since it was released 12.00 CET I don't think many US citizens got the chance to order one
These were sold out in 16 minutes. Omega said it took just under 2hrs but believe me, that is not correct. After 16 minutes or so it was just impossible to register.

Most will go to Europe I suppose and as somebody else said ... The Asian market will go crazy cause almost everybody knows Ultraman or at least grew up with this cult action hero.
And than you still have al the diehard Speedmaster fans that always were on the hunt for one off the original Ultraman speedmasters.
I'm sure this will be one of the hottest Omega after.

The more I look at this piece, the more I think it would look great on a rubber strap.

Get a TinTin. More rare-less than 1500 exist. Still affordable although they’ve doubled in price over the last few months.

I’ll rather get Ultraman than the Tintin. Never understood the “delayed” hype on the Tintin which was issued few years back. Sorry. No offense intended to Tintin owners.

Or you could just buy the watch you want to wear......I never cared for tin tin though I loved the cartoon....never will either just like I'll never care for a Newman dial vintage Daytona...no matter where the speculation goes.

The Ultraman Speedy Tuesday is a homerun in my eyes.

Yes buy what you like but the point is simple Ultraman is sold out and $9k grey market is under priced. The TinTin is a viable alternative that has doubled in price recently but still found in $5500-$6000 range-this won’t last much longer. And yes the TinTin is proclaimed to be the next Newman Daytona, I guess that only matters if you like the Newman Daytona, I think the only Daytona I love is the Newman. I get your point but at the end of the day pull out your wallet as I tend to think Ultraman will be $11-$12k used/grey. In the meantime the less than 1500 TinTin will continue to rise and also become unaffordable. My next recommendation is to get the new CK2998. Just giving alternative s to someone who may never get a chance at the Ultraman.
