Icon20 Datejust II-2 questions

Good morning nice to be part of the group

I have a Datejust II which I purchased approximately 2014. I have two questions about it.

First is about the expected power reserve. I took the watch off at about 10 PM on Thursday, and at 7 AM on Saturday it was not running. I had worn it daily for at least 8-10 hours for four months prior. Should I suspect an issue?

Also, advice for a newbie on a topic for which there are many opinions. Should I get a full service on this watch done now, and in general what is the recommendation for frequency of lubrication, changing gaskets and inspection? I am also the kind of guy that would normally have Rolex do this but I don’t want to throw away money. Am I safe with an independent service person? Recommendations? Thanks.

The Datejust II has a 48hr power reserve, if you really want to make make sure the power reserve is full, wind it via the crown about 40 turns, I've read sometimes simply wearing it isn't enough to get to the full power reserve

I belive Rolex recommends 10 year service intervals, so with it being only 4 years, I wouldn't worry about service at this time.

. . .
How long you wear it is irrelevant, it is wound by activity, but it is always running down. Very few people will have a watch that is always "topped-up" when they take it off.

You have no indications of a faulty watch.
