Thoughts on Wimbledon DJ41???

I am the current owner of a blue fluted baton DJII which I love, but I keep finding myself drawn to a Wimbledon dial DJ41. Something about that dial just mesmerizes me. Even though I'm a big DJII fan the idea of the jubilee bracelet has attracted me for a while, especially since my Datejust is essentially my "dress watch" anyway. I pretty much exclusively wear it with dress or semi-dress clothing only rarely ever wearing it with short sleeve shirts.

Can I get some thougths and maybe a picture or two from any TRF owners out there? My preference is the SS fluted jubilee model, but would be happy to see photos of any configuration.

What are your thoughts on the dial? Do you still love it or have you grown bored with it over time? Do you like the colors and the roman markers? How about the 9 o'clock marker? Does it bother you? Have you grown to love it? Any other comments good or bad?

Thanks for the feedback

I love it. My favorite of the DJ dials. DJ's don't stick around long in my collection, otherwise I'd have one.

9 o'clock marker loses the tie-breaker for me, Mike. Otherwise, oh I say, a dream of a backhand.

That watch is so nice otherwise...Why in the world would they put only « one marker at nine » looks so out of place.....the eye goes right to that marker......it just ruins it for me.....all romans would have been great.

I will say that is the one part of it that has prevented me from getting one in the past. That's why I was curious to get opinions from any owners out there.

As for the reasons, my guess is to #1 balance the white date window and #2 provide a luminated reference point.

It might also be a reference to the unique Wimbledon dress code.

I had one, but flipped it.

It was great when well lit, but wasn't so legible in low lit conditions. I have decent eyesight, but I don't like struggling to see the time.

If it takes more than a glance to check the time, I'd rather just check my cellphone. I've heard this complaint from others as well (the legibility).

I can't picture it without the 9 marker after owning mine. It does balance (symetry) with the date with it's own style. I was a little hesitant to order it at first and was going for the silver dial but I'm so glad I didn't play it safe as it became an instant favorite.

LOVE the Wimbledon dial!!! I had it on a TT DJII. I will eventually get one but I want the smooth on oyster just like Nick's above. No jubilee or fluted for me on this one

I do love it, but it’s fluted bezel or bust for me. I think the stick has something to do with the game as in the actual net that separates the players

Just please don't make a trade for the different dial. Buy it if you like it

Not just a different dial, also different bracelet (oyster for jubilee), also different watch (DJII for DJ41)

It’s fantastic. If I found a SS version I would likely snap it up.

Sorry, should have clarified...I held an Everose gold/stainless DJ with this dial at an AD last week. That version is $13,500.

Not a fan of any Wimbledon dials. Just me though, I see there is interest but wouldn’t recommend buying a Wimbledon over a non-wimbledon

Interesting, not feeling a lot of love for the Wimbledon dial. Seems like the 9 marker is a real polarizing feature. I was curious to hear from longtime owners if the marker is something that continues to bother you or if it sort of disappears over time? Or do you like the marker and the symmetry it creates on the dial?

Looks good to me!

And I agree about the marker at 9 kinda balancing with the cyclops

It's literally the last DJ configuration I'd buy (ie, I wouldn't buy it)

But that's just me, like they say, there's no accounting for taste.

And I wear a TT DJ41! Many people hate that one.

I had a DJ41 with that dial Slate Romans. Excellent three tones on the dial, green, black, and slate. Great idea to get another DJ.

I do not mind the 9 o'clock baton, the rest of the dial is awesome - grey dial that blends with the case, making the green roman numerals (love roman numerals) pronounced.

Confusing choices though - It comes though in several bezel-bracelet combo; which one would you prefer in SS?
(a) fluted bezel-jubilee
(b) fluted-oyster
(c) smooth-oyster

Thanks.

Took a photo yesterday, but I can't post links because I have less than 10 posts! Slate roman DJ41 with fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet.

Easily my favourite dial on the DJ, it looks amazing in person. I think it'd look strange without the baton at the 9 o'clock marker.

If you'd like I can try and send a pic via PM :)
