I’m not retired, more like on hiatus from buying new Rolex SS sports references. Last new 6-digit SS Rolex purchase was in 2016, before the lunacy started. Since then I’ve bought two 5-digit refs (16710 and 16600) and a new Pelagos all at relatively reasonable prices. Not a participant in waiting/playing games with AD's, or paying big premiums over retail with a gray dealer.

I've pretty much moved on also. Unless it falls into my lap not really interested. Too many other options and great watches out there.

Ad games are annoying but nice to have value retention.

Those two 5-digit watches are fantastic. What else would you want?

Happy? I am over the moon and I am so delighted that I do not have to participate in the stupid game of trying to get the watch I want. I have what I want and now is the time to enjoy it.

I have said this 3 different times before. I tried holding off from Rolex in the current climate but didn’t see a end any time soon. I believe I am done now for a long time simply because I just purchased the last two new Rolex models I even wanted. I also purchased two new models from other manufactures. I wouldn’t want/need a new Sub as I did a end run around it for the new DSSD JC. I waited for the new BLNR after the initial release of the BLRO. It will be at least a decade until Rolex modifies the new “32” series movement and that would be my only motivation.

When I come off of hiatus, ideally a Daytona 116519LN (white gold, steel dial, Oysterflex strap).

Makes a ton of sense given what you have. The caliber 4130 released in 2000 is still unmatched to this day.

I'm going to buy a watch from Walmart next. Know why? The display cases are full of stainless sport models!

Already have the AP I wanted. I don't need more from them either. Will likely look into Patek for complications.

You are correct about the games. But that's really not the subject as I'm into collecting pieces that are relevant.

Nothing in the current lineup interest me so yes. My next purchase won’t be Rolex as I’m eyeing a VC.

Before even buying one, I’ve been pushed into retiring.. Got frustrated and bought a Tudor BB 41... Not planning on giving up though..
