That's the first time I think I've seen a root beer bezel with a black dial. What year is that GMT?

Right, and if you think that one is interesting, take a look at this:

Well, except that one says is has a root beer dial. But why is the bracelet missing? Maybe that's why the price is so low.

Probably. I think the dial is dark brown, rather than black. I was wary of it at first, but I do think it is genuine. Its impossible to tell if any of the watch is after-market or not.

An interesting piece, to be sure. For the price, I could get a Bark DD, though!

For the price, I would get this DD:

Yes, Dennis' most recent acquisition. But for ME, the one he traded for that one is my heart's desire!!! One like this:

Don't ask me why, except that it doesn't just smile at me - it throws love and kisses at me!!!

Keep going, Maurizio. Only two more posts to go and you can put up your watch for sale on the For Sale board.

Nice 1675 watch looks like small hands pointy crown guards from around 1960-64 what is the cal movement.

Ed, I could be wrong here but I think the bezel insert on the 5513 turned that color over the years. I recall seeing a few other examples of this elsewhere. Maybe Mike or Padi can chime on this one.

Ed, I'm with padi on the age of the GMT. Early 60s-- 60 to 64 time frame.
The watch has several charaterists that date it to circa this era.
1. The dial has an enclosed minute ring--indicative of GMTs that followed the 6542.
2. The dial is marked "SWISS" rather than "SWISS-T<25.
3. the biggie--pointed crown guards. These were indicative of early GMTs

As to the brown bezel insert, I have seen a few on 5513s and 5512s and one 1680. Not sure what caused this, but I'm inclined to agree with Paul--something in the pigment of the paint caused it.

Una bella collezione Maurizio

Wonderful, wonderful watches. You have exquisite tastes my friend.
I haven't been to Italy before, but I am dying to visit there! The closest I have come is Brissago & Lago Maggiore.

Glad you found your way to our forum, what other watches do you have?

Panerai is a dangerous territory. you must be a deep expert of panerai. if not is a big problem

No expertise needed at all... just passion for the brand and the willingness to wear a small wall clock on your wrist. Like most Paneristi, I'm overcompensating for other issues.
