New Guy From TN

Just joined today and WOW! Very helpful place to find information about Rolex. Anyhow, with me being the new guy, I've never owned a Rolex, and I'm currently in the market for a new or pre-owned Rolex Watch. (GMT or Sub)

I have waited for 10 years or so, and I am finally ready to purchase. With that being said, I'm looking to find a dealer that has great selection and service.

Would anyone in or around TN have a dealer they recommend?

Thank you for your time!

DavidSW right here on TRF. I have bought 6 or 7 Rolex watches from him. He is great, and he will give you a reasonable deal.

Welcome to the forum

Congrats and welcome! I studied Rolex religiously for about 15 years before making my first purchase. Always thought I wanted a Datejust, but fell in love with the Sub and never looked back.

I have a 16610 and a 116610.

I would recommend you take a look at the section of this site that has Rolexes for sale. That's how I bought both of mine and my wife's.

I can recommend LawrenceB, alexthegreat123 and Sohail. All fantastic sellers.

Welcome! As broad as this community is, I am sure we have folks from the volunteer state who can recommend a local AD. If you do decide to buy new, I highly recommend the well known sellers here on the Rolex forums. I bought my first Rolex nearly a year ago today new in box, essentially drop shipped from an AD from davidsw and could not be happier. That said there are several well recommended dealers here and I would email a handful of them and see whom suits you best, if you decide that route is for you. After all, you will still be able to use your local AD as a conduit to Rolex service in the future. Jewelers aren't in the business of pissing off people with rolex, they are in the business of attracting you as a future customer. Just my experience : )

You can go to the Rolex website and go to retailers - TN and check AD's in the state.

Regardless of where you purchase or from whom, you should go to an AD, several times, and sample the various models in person. Maybe try several AD's if they are accessible, but holding them in your hand, on your wrist, in a well lit setting, is a must. Different models, different dials, materials, etc. You will feel more confident when you finally pull the trigger.

Welcome. If you are close to Chattanooga then Brody jewelers always has quite a decent selection of pre owned watches, rolex and other brands.
Also you will find some great deals here on the forum. I just completed a deal with FNFZ4 and he is absolutely great to work with. Great service and answered every question i had promptly.
Hope this helps and again welcome. hope to see an incoming soon..

Welcome. This is the best sight on the planet. I waited ten years for my first Rolex too. Makes it that much more special. My opinion...get the Sub but they are great watches. I would definitely stay away from Craigslist and EBay. I would highly recommend that you buy from a trusted seller here on TRF. That or an authorized dealer. Just stay away from the other two and you will be fine. Welcome!!!!

You should get your first Rolex from Authorized Rolex retailer. You will get the same deal as on here. Expect a discount between 10% and 15%
If anything goes wrong with the watch, they will take care of it instead of you messing w Rolex service
Plus you get the credit card points. And the warranty card will be in your name instead of some AD from Greece, Italy and who knows where the watch is sourced from.
Its extremelly important that my first Rolex watch is mine and only mine with my name on the cars. I dont want my son to inherit a Rolex from Joe Smoe
Good luck and welcome

No, prices are not better on here. Just need to find right AD Where do you think sellers here get their BNIB watches?

Used watches are a different story. I agree, trusted sellers offer great options in pre owned market

Plus who will take care of you if there is a defect ???
My AD took care of a BLNR issue immediatelly and i got a brand new watch. And i bought it at 10% off retail.
