Model Number = Year of Manufacture?

Hi! What does DJ-16220 or 16610 signify? Can you get the year of manufacture from these model/serial numbers? (If there's an existing thread for this, I'd appreciate the help.) Thanks!

Welcome

No, you cannot derive a date from those numbers..

a 16220 is the model number for a Datejust and 16610 is the model number for a stainless steel Submariner..

If you have a serial number, which is located on the case side, under the bracelet link, you can use a commonly available chart that will give you an approximation of when that serial number was manufactured.

Yes, the 16220 has ran for a period of around 20 years and stopped at about 2003-2004. The newer Datejust that you are referring to has the model 116200 and has been in production since the stopping of the 16220.

Welcome to the forums!!
