Nylon straps...

OK, really I dont get this at all. Why would anyone take a nice Rolex with a heavy stainless steel bracelet and put on a Nato strap, or even one of them solid colour straps.

My take, is that these always make the watch look less valuable. I followed a link from a thread yesterday to a nato store, and someone had even but a flimsy material strap on a TT Sub. Argh!!!

Metal - the best!

Leather - great too

Rubber - only for tool watches

Material - should be eradicated!

I'd have to disagree, that's why they make chocolate and vanilla something for everyone.

I'm sorry I started the thread yesterday that makes you feel so horrible. I guess since I bought the watch as thousands of others have we can do what we want with them. Just because your personal taste doesn't match what others are you don't need to attack someones views on a public forum, troll.

How does this make you feel? Ha. First, the strap is much more comfortable than the stainless bracelet. Second, stainless steel is worth less than $1.00 per lb so the idea that it is luxurious is silly. Third, I think it looks good.

Because they like the look and they want to switch things up. Also they are super comfortable compared to the bracelet. That's why.

I don't like NATOs or rubber straps either. But they aren't my watches.

Some didn't buy it to impress others, so keeping it looking "valuable" is not a high priority.

i did not buy my watch because it was valuable and I could care less if people look at my wrist and think "oh that's not a valuable watch".

I bought it because I like it, because they stand the test of time, and I love my EXP II on a nato as well as my sub. It's an easy way to switch up the look of the watch, they are extremely comfortable in the summer time and it is just a nice change of pace. I also don't care about my weight of the watch and the "heavy" steel bracelet. Have you ever worn an older sub with one the tuna can clasps? They aren't very heavy but they could take a beating.

I think you need to potentially evaluate why you wear a watch. Not sure if you wear it because you actually like that watch, or if you just wear it to impress other people. If it is choice 2 I think you might be in the wrong place.

I apologize about the long winded response, but these threads are getting old, some people love there watch on a bracelet others enjoy it on a nato. Simply said wear the watch the way you want.

Some huge overreaction going on here to the OP's baiting. Keep cool. Personally I tried a few nylon NATO's and didn't really like them but also understand that some don't love metal bracelets. I would go for a good leather strap but they are not always practical, though I've been using shell cordovan in the ocean with no problems.
