I love the 372, but went for a 422, Power reserve and crystal made the difference for me.

Both are great, but, at this size, base + plexi > sapphire + PR on back.

Easy one for me - 422

I prefer a Marina to a Base, and the PR indicator is nice to have.

I want with the 372 , after a long hard decision the 372 just had a different personality on the wrist than the 422. It has so much more depth when you lok at it, best thing to do is try both on in front of a full length mirror. I always thought I would go with the 422, but I couldn't get the 372 out of my mind after trying both on. The 422 is the "safer" choice because of the crystal, but after having the plexiglass , it's not as bad as you think at all. Good luck!

I sold my 372 after 2 years and eventually bought a 422 - I really, really disliked the plexi on the 372- but the 422 with sapphire crystal and heftier feel (it is slightly heavier due to the power reserve function), along with the seconds dial and power reserve on the back is such an overall improvement- the biggest difference is the clarity and beauty of the dial on the 422 which you can fully appreciate through the pure clarity of the crystal- plus the 422 comes with the rubber strap which looks amazing, and I much prefer the tapered leather strap on the 422 - no regrets at all on switching from 372 to 422

True story: Mike buys 372. Loves 372 so much that he wears it often. One day, wife scratches crystal with diamond eternity band. "By accident"... uh huh. Mike is despondent. But wait! Mike pulls out PolyWatch and buffs out scratch!

Gotta love acrylic! Diamonds less so.

If you want something like the 422, you should also consider the 127 "Fiddy".

I started with a 422 and eventually stopped wearing it. I did not feel at ease with the more formal looking dial on a somewhat chunky watch. Ended up with a 372 that is just our simplicity. I thought the plexi could drive my crazy and a simple cleaning with toothpaste and a soft T shirt makes it look like new. Either watch is a great thing on the wrist.

If I had 1 Pam, I would lean towards the 422 as the sapphire is better for daily use and the seconds function is convenient. If it was a second pam, 372 just because it feels more iconic.

I went with the 422. I wanted the subdial and the PR indicator was a great addition. I do love a base though. I wanted a base I could swim with and not worry about. So I got a 000 for my base.

You can't go wrong with either the 372 or the 422. They are both great watches!

I tried on a 372 before I got my 389. Love it. It think either way you will be fine but there is just something about the 372....may be next on the list

You should go to your AD and see for yourself. From the photos I would go with 422, but inside the store, I was more attracted to the 372 when I saw them side by side... YMMV
