First Post: New to Panerai 38mm (Pictures)

I have always admired from afar. But the watch enthusiasts around me would really discourage a purchase of a Panerai. By saying while a watch is not an investment but if you ever needed to get out of that watch it would be for pennies, you never pay retail for a Panerai. As silly as it sounds those chats kept me from buying what it like. The other factor for me was the size of the watches. So when I found out they were coming out with a 38mm I thought yes a watch for me. So I purchased the PAM 755 38 mm. I also recently had a chance to see some of the beautiful straps they have for this watch. I also acquired the Cherry red strap which is gorgeous!

I would love to know your throughs on the 38mm line.

I know the biggest complaint is the 30m depth so we can get that out of the way.

Now I dream of the rose gold 38mm!

Pictures below.

I like it. People here may complain about the depth rating, but some of them also think hot tubs will damage their subs. If you don’t intend to dive with your watch, it doesn’t really matter. 38mm is a classic size and it looks great on you. Congrats.

Just saw the 38mms in the AD yesterday, they look distinctively Panerai but what I dislike from the due line is the thin case that make the case felt clumsy, another thing is the gap between the edge of dial with the markers that make the dimensions seem off

What’s great about the Due line is that people who never would have bought a Panerai now consider it. So I’m all for it. Looks good.

Congrats!
That looks great on your wrist.
Very nice dial.

Better off getting what you like, not what others like, which is what supports resale values.
If we all only bought what others like/value, we'd all have the same watches, clothes, cars, etc.
What a boring world that would be.

The fit of due depends whether you’re used to thick pam or not

The dimensions of the 42mm due still looks okay, the 728 felt a bit like 338 on the wrist

The dimensions of the 37mm is okay (albeit looks small for a Panerai) but it goes with the sizing,it felt more like a delicate dress watch like JLC MUT than a Panerai

The dimensions of the larger one (45?) looks off with big dial but thin case, tried 729 but it felt weird on my wrist, like a flat pancake

That’s based on my limited experience trying the dues on the shop display

Looks great on your wrist! Big congrats and don’t worry about 30m water rating at all. Plus you don’t want to ruin that nice cheery new strap of yours. ;)
