What Rolex would you buy if you could buy only 5 of them?
Hi guys,
I just want to know what models are popular among Rolex lovers in this forum. Its interesting to see Rolex taste being maybe slightly different all around the world and even though there are ppl across all continents I guess there is small dominance of ppl from N. America. From my observation ppl from N. America for example favours more Batman then Pepsi while ppl in Europe don't like them that much given the fact they have not such a history as Pepsi have. They also like TT and full gold models more. Those are just my observation I might be completely wrong or there might be some statistic deviation. At the end of the day ppl just grab any SS sport model if its available for MSPR So as the thread name suggests - what 5 models would you buy? Imagine you can buy only 5 Rolexes. Do not take waiting lists into consideration and give me please 5 models of your most favorite watches with specification regarding material, bezel, dial, bracelet etc. Also preferably please avoid those "5 Daytonas pls" replies LOL. Would you go as fancy and expensive as possible? Or would you go classic and simple? My TOP 5 list would be: SS Submarine Date - I like classic black dial, I know Hulk is overhyped and has higher resale value I just stick to black dial as black is also my number 1 in my wardrobe and this model is my 1st model I bought and its super universal and it suits every occasion. I can wear it with my 20 bucks black t-shirt or my 3000 bucks suit. SS Daytona (black dial or inverted panda even better) - I dont have it yet but it was my dream watch since like 12 years when I know nothing about Rolex SS GMT-II Pepsi - I am probably a minority there and prefer Jubilee over Oyster YG Day-Date 41mm -champagne or green dial, but I actually like all dials TT Sky Dweller - champagne dial, I like full gold model maybe slightly more but If I would be buying only 5 models I would like to have at least some variety and have TT also in my collection. This is unusual piece without any history like other models and its kinda complicated watch but I find it to be one of the best looking Rolexes and TT Sky Dweller balance well between flashy bling bling stuff and super elegant piece of art BTW all SS models are new ceramic. I have not yet developed taste for vintage pieces, I don't have required knowledge needed to choose right piece. Also SS is my usual choice as I am relatively kinda young (30) and don't feel much serious with gold watches. I don't mind having watches looking less expensive then they actually are. Some ppl like the opposite. Also I don't need much attention, primarily I want to satisfy myself rather then being show-off. Looking forward your replies. Have a nice day guys |

Each of my four pieces has sentimental value, so I probably would just replace my Breitling SOH II beater with a SS piece. The collection would be something like:
1980s DJ on black leather strap Five-digit TT YM with white dial TT DJ41 with black dial ZBlue Milgauss Sub or Sea Dweller |

I’d you could only have five watches costing several thousand dollars each? Only five huh? These are the decisions that keep the public awake at night!
All the same - 116010NN 114060 116600 126600 And whatever my wife wanted. |

My potential 5 would be:
114060 116610LV 126719BLRO 116500LN (White Dial) 228239 (WG or Plat. - with any dial) <-- Just realized that the Plat. DD can be configured with any Dial (not only the Ice blue) |

I'll keep my 3 (see under dog pic), and add: 1) 36mm yg DD w/chocolate dial, diamonds/rubies markers; and 2) some TBD vintage root beer GMT.

Buy 5, holy mother of god, how do you fund 5 Rolex's, I have bankrupt the piggy bank buying my first Rolex, if I tell my finance manager (wife) I'm buying another watch, let alone another Rolex I am likely to die a painful death, she mentioned blunt rusty knives and no one around to hear me scream.

Assuming current models only, mine would be:
Hulk SS Pepsi Wg Daytona on oysterflex Rose gold day date 40 / brown dial Yellow gold smurf > rose gold / rhodium dial SkyDweller narrowly missed the list, as did Platona. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I should maybe add that I own only 2 pieces from my top 5 list (Sub and Pepsi) and I have only 3 Rolex pieces total. I bought my 1st piece 1.5 years ago for my 29th birthday. It was actually my 1st "real watch" as well. Since then I like and enjoy my Submarine more and more. I managed to get Pepsi which I find to be stunning watch and also DJ41 with blue dial for social events as it looks more suit-ish.
In a meantime while waiting for other pieces I ordered several Mondani/others books and I try to read as much info as possible about Rolex and watches in general. |

Out of curiosity do you remember your reference numbers? Sometimes I know what watch you are mentioning but most of the time I need to google it. I am barely able to remember my Sub's number :D.

I need an even number since I'm aiming for 2 sets of LSA (one set over 40mm and one set 40mm).
So far I have:- -Black Daytona C -D-Blue 126660 -Blue SS Sky Dweller To complete I'm thinking:- -Explorer II Black Dial -Submariner -WG Blue Dialed BLRO |
