1981 Rolex 16013 datejust no Swiss on dial
I am a newbie and just purchased a 1981 Rolex model 16013 datejust
I just realized that there is no Swiss marking on the dial at the six o’clock Position. What does this mean? Is the watch fake..? Did Rolex ever make dials with no Swiss marking. I would really appreciate some information On this. Thank you, Joe |

Nobody can really know from a simple narrative.
Typically, when there is no Swiss at the bottom of the dial, the dial may have been refinished. It has no bearing on if the watch itself is authentic or not.

Sometimes when they do a redial, they don't bother to redo the “swiss” at the bottom.
Pics would help

My 1981 Rolex 16013 datejust no SWISS on dial
Can someone tell me why there would be no Swiss marking on dial. Watch has been checked and is authentic Rolex. Does this effect value? There seems to be no information on the internet concerning this issue. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Photo is not very clear but it looks like a redial.
This dial should have t swiss at 6 o’clock! It looks like the case has seen the polishing wheel a few times too....bezel is almost smooth one now. I would return it if I have the option. Value is affected when we talk about a redial and an overpolished case.

Hey Joe, not sure what you paid for that, but if you can get your money back, I think you can do much better in terms of a crisper, cleaner, 16013. Probably pay a bit more, but ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

@Pizzatele
Often on the 16013 the T Swiss T is quite faint and not easy to see. Still, you should be able to make it out with the watch in your hand (we can't determine much based on your pic). If the text isn't there it's a sure sign that the dial has been repainted. If the seller did not disclose this fact then I would start negotiating for a full refund. _______ IG: @onthedial |

I agree. There are so many DJ's out there. Get your money back and keep searching for the right one for you. Keep reading TRF, which will get you educated very quickly. Good luck.
