Sub 5513 Increases Exponentially

Browsing my watch collection on C24 I see that my 5513 has increased over 100% from under 3 weeks ago. What’s going on with these vintage subs?

LOL - your data is screwed up. Unless your watch is a gilt underline, 5513's are going for $10~15k all day every day.

Probably better asking what's going on with C24

They probably pull prices from what they're listed for and not actually selling for. And I've seen some absurd asking prices on C24.

100% in three weeks doesn't sound right, maybe since three years ago it went to 15k. Keep checking back, it should re-adjust.

Look at the graph. I’m not alleging its real, I simply posted because it surprised me.

I know, I have the same Chrono 24 app with my collection as well. No 5513 but that's got to be a mistake unless they know something we don't.

Well, I wonder if part of the average price calculation on chrono24 does include milsubs? In which case, they could increase the overall average sale price.

C24 chard is a helpful guide when used properly. I believe that they will pull data from sold watches and currently listed watches to determine current price.

I recently looked at my watches and I can tell you that their evaluation was 8-12% over actual current market. As in I don’t believe my own watches are worth as much as they claim on the chart.

I always assume that if I was selling privately, I would get 20% - 25% less than the lowest price on C24.

The lowest price for a used 5990 in the UK on C24 the last time I looked was £83k. That would mean I could sell mine for between£62k and £67k based on my logic, which feels broadly right.

These charts are worthless. Like the old baseball card price guides. Quit viewing your watches like a stock portfolio, it’s meaningless.

Sub 5513 Increases Exponentially

If one had access to C24 final price data then it might be something worth reviewing. That is, if one was insuring for “agreed value”.

Otherwise their algorithm is twisting actual sales with asking prices that could be out of whack.

eBay has that data but the fidelity of their categorization is so fouled up that not worth the time to mine it.

Sure, 5513s can be found in that price range, but not super nice examples. The top condition matte Subs are indeed in the $15K range, with Maxi dials even more.

As we know, it's all about condition, so to speculate about prices based solely on a watch's reference number doesn't mean too much.

You asked what was going on with vintage Subs, not with C24's chart. That's why you're getting these responses.

Besides, C24 has no idea what 5513 you have, only what you paid. Your dial, hands and insert can vary the value wildly.

They are a 'hot' reference, but that char is flawed as evidenced above.

For non-gilt matte, seems like 10k to get in the club and about 14-18k to have a real cherry with extras (box, papers, anchor, etc.).

This all day. These aren’t shares of some blue chip stock, where all are equal and zero consideration is given for condition and extras.
