Recent King Seiko re-releases… seems quiet.

Has anyone purchased one of these? Thoughts on it?

Just read the comments section in that link you posted, about the 6R movement, etc., if you want to know why it's unpopular. Should be on the same level as GS, and it's not. Just get 3 or 4 very nice vintage KS for the same price.

Nice watches and I have handled them at my AD. With a large Seiko collection this one does not stand out enough for me to add it.

This is what I’m thinking. And some beauties you had available were great examples

They might have held back scared of taking some shine off the GS but it’s a weak approach.

Maybe should have made the KS manual or quartz only with older GS movements.

You can also check on the dedicated Seiko forums at Watchuseek and "The Watch Site" to have an idea what kind of fiasco the 6R calibers are.

I think a bezel could brighten up this watch, because this kind of "gasket" style dial installation looks pretty ridiculous to me. Anyhow the casing looks fine except it seems too thick for me.

Omg this release is getting killed online. I’m disappointed in Seiko. The cocktail time and Presage are better than these.

Nice looking case and dial, but with that movement I don’t think it honors what King Seiko was historically.

You can get a real vintage KS with a far superior movement for a better price. That’s what I did.
