My very FIRST Panerai is the LAST one...PAM911

I finally stepped into the world of Panerai after years of looking and years of collecting other brands.

I’m still getting used to the size (44mm) compared to my other watches* but love the boldness of the Panerai.

This is what I like about it, so far:
  • Green dial is lovely and the dial color changes like a chamaeleon, depending on the type of light source
  • 300m water resistance (with screw down casebook)
  • 8 day power reserve (I've been getting 9 days with an accuracy of +4sec/day)
  • Classic Luminor case
  • Simple clean dial without extra text
  • No date
  • Limited to 500 pieces

I guess this is not bad for my first Panerai :-)

* some of my other watches include: Rolex Daytona 116500LN, Rolex BLNR, Rolex SD4000, and Omega Speedmaster

The many shades of the green dial depending on the light level and light source....

I hope the PAM 911 plays nice with its new family!

The 911 is a really special one... big congrats and welcome to Panerai! :-)

Thanks for the collection of photos showing off the various shades of the dial. Very cool!

Wow... did you score this directly from a boutique? I’m surprised they sold it to someone that has never owned a Panerai lol. Lucky you!

A great first Panerai. While many might say a black dial would be an ideal first PAM, the dark olive green actually fits with the military utilitarian heritage of the brand. Couple that with a nice 44mm size, deep sandwich dial; how could this be anything but a perfect choice?

The 8 day movement does run fast. I have two Panerai with P5000 movements. They tend to run fast the first day or so fully wound and then even out. I am told this is typical so don't be too alarmed.

This will not be your last. In many ways, the 45mm Radiomirs wear even smaller than the 44mm Luminors. I think adding a Radi is next for you!

Congrats on your first Pam. I have been thinking about getting a green canvas strap for mine, how do you like it?

Forgot to mention the sandwich dial is awesome. I was looking at the PAM590 but it didn't have a sandwich and was willing to settle until the PAM911 popped onto the scene! I'm ok with +4sec. Still within COSC and I'd rather it run fast as opposed to slow

Green strap is great! Pairs nicely with the 911. And is it SUPER comfortable and doesn't need to be broken in whatsoever

Yes, they are available. I had to wait a few weeks but i got one even though the boutique said it was all sold out.

That said, 500 pieces is not huge production and think it will be in short supply and become harder to get over the next several months. I can see it selling out by summer time (but who really knows about these things!)

Beautiful! One of the coolest ones I have seen lately on many levels. Congrats! If anyone knows where I can purchase one, I would be grateful for the info. My intensive search has not led to any reasonably priced pieces. If any leads, please send me a PM or an email at kbarr4@icloud.com

Curious as to what your research has turned up in terms of secondary market costs ?
