How deep can you scratch ur AP ?
so yesterday I dropped my iphone on my watch while driving it was a really small drop that surprisingly scratch my watch and crack a bit of the phone protector. It was extremely painful to see and then today When wearing my AP there's a steel part of my backpack that bang it a bit and had a small dent on the lug This really destroy my day to be honest. I'm wondering if anyone has a before and after pic of their AP because I'm really curious on how deep the scratch is that still possible to fix or will i have to remove the lug? Which means the whole case? How do u guys live with the marks? And do any of u have dents on ur watch or only scratches?

Mate, marks are bound to happen, it doesn't make you happy when they do, but more will come, so don't even think of polishing it for that, they can't look new all the time, polishing will just kill it more, your watch looks great, and like any worn watch it has marks, big deal...

I wish I had some before and after pics but my diver looked like garbage,it was banged and scratched up in a hilarious way. I figure it would need at least a new bezel.
Came back from service perfect. Not a mark to be found. I really think you have absolutely nothing to worry about! These things happen and it is best to not let it ruin your enjoyment of that beautiful ROO!! |

My nearly 3 years old SS diver also has many scratches and dings too if I look closely. It's best not to keep paying attention to it and soon they will not bother you. Scratches are part of a watch's life. During service, you can replace it with a new SS bezel.
If it really bothers you a lot, flip it for a Ceramic piece.

Must say I am quite surprised to see you have such scratches from your phone falling on it... |

From the picture, your watch looks very fine to me.
Deep scratches, especially on bezel does bother me. I would get the bezel replaced or trade off the watch for another model on my list. That's just me, OCD...I could not stand deep scratches or dents on the bezel because I look at my watch many many times a day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I heard so many times the statement "don't worry about it , it gives character to the watch " And maybe it's a fair advise but it doesn't make it right. My advise is this : be careful when you wear it, and try to match the watch accordingly to the activity as best as possible. So you increase your chances of ending up with scratches that are gonna be easily removed when sent to AP center. In a perfect world you should be able to wait until service for your watch is due to take care of this. Now if your OCD is driving you crazy then just send it to get polish to AP center and be happy .

Bezel marks do hurt, but try to give it a month and see if you can come to terms with it. If not then send to AP for a polish, it is only £200/300 and you can polish an AP 3/4 times.

I too have plenty of scratches and small dings on the bezel and the case of my SS Diver. They're almost unavoidable. Learn to live with them and don't let the little things bother you.

Thanks guys, actually I felt a lot better now I've done some search and found out that even deep dents can be fixed with laser and it's true I guess that if i do polish it I will end up scratching them again and I really like my greytheme so until service time i'll just wait. sound like AP SC does do a great job.

Your watch looks fine to me. Besides, it's an Offshore, they're meant to look tough, and having a few scratches on it makes it look more tough.

You can always have the bezel replaced at service time. Enjoy your watch.
