The Omega Speedmaster is a line of chronograph models offered by Omega; however, it is the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch that is one of the iconic wristwatches as of today. Speedmaster Moonwatch is the only certified wristwatch approved by NASA, and is the first watch to be worn in American spacewalk as part of NASA's Gemini 4 mission and was the first watch worn by an astronaut walking on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission. The wristwatch is entirely made from stainless steel, and comes in 42mm in diameter casing. The watch’s seconds counter is at 9 o’clock position while as the chronograph’s function includes 30-minute counter is at 3 o’clock position and 12-hours counter is at 6 o’clock position. Of course, the 60-seconds counter is the central seconds sweeping hand. To start the chronograph, one would press the pusher at the 2 o’clock position, and to stop it, one would press it again. To reset the chronograph, one would press the pusher at the 4 o’clock position. In addition, the outer bezel acts as tachymeter able to read the current driving speed which measures the speed over time travelled in a fixed distance. Time markers are painted with Super Luminova giving luminescent lighting which time can be read at night. The watch can withstand 50m of every day usage water resistance, and the watch is treated anti-reflective coating on the inside of the sapphire crystal. The movement is in-house made 1863 caliber and is available to the user to see from the transparent caseback through the sapphire crystal. The movement is manual wound and has a power reserve of 48 hours. The movement beats at the frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, and employs cam lever actuated action. However, the wristwatch has no date function. The model number for this particular reference is 311.30.42.30.01.006.

I’m currently saving up for an IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 right up, pulling the trigger around at the end of the year.
