New York vs Dallas Servicing

This is my first post and I hope this hasn’t been talked about a lot here. I’m going to send my Rolex in for servicing and I was wondering what location is better for quality and customer service? A while ago I sent my blue 36mm in for warranty service and the serial number was etched into my clasp. I thought it was in a weird spot so I emailed Rolex and they will sandblast it for free. It was etched in an unusual location.

I've used both. I feel I get better service and more communication while my watch is being serviced from Dallas RSC.

I've only used the Los Angeles location, as I live right down the street (they have been excellent btw.) But I've read a few NY RSC horror stories on here. Meanwhile I've heard nothing but great things about the Dallas location.

Doesn't matter. If they are busy they send it along to Lititz or one of the others, so you really don't know where the work is done, only where you sent it.

I can only speak for Dallas. Awesome customer service, no issues, and received back sooner than expected.

Luckily I can walk my watches in, so I meet the customer reps in person and they're always professional and prompt.

Do you just call them ahead of time for instructions on sending the watch in?

What is lititz? Would it be better to send to Switzerland if Rolex pays for it?

I've heard good things about Dallas, terrible things about the NY center and, I would advise you to avoid Letitz because it's their training school.

Lititz, Pa is where the Rolex training facility is. Also an overflow RSC in addition to NYC and Dallas. A customer can't send their watch there directly though.

I have a brand new updated DSSD with RSC dallas right now and so far its been good.

They sent a package for me to ship the watch back but only after I asked. They made me ship it USPS ground at a cost of $50 to me and they didn't call to confirm they got the watch until over a week after it arrived. All in all if they fix it then I would consider it good service but not great.

APSC Clearwater I would consider great but I'm sure they are dealing with far fewer watches and a much higher price point. They overnight the shipping package and ship back overnight at no cost. They call as soon as the receive the watch. They call and email with a confirmation of the problem and estimated time of usually a month but its back in less than a month from the day it leaves your hands. They overnight the watch back with morning delivery and they include a nice leather travel case.

I had my F Series 16710 Pepsi GMT serviced at the NYC RSC this summer and it was flawless. They also did my wife's OP. Absolute perfection. No horror stories whatsoever...

ROLEXDON'TTICKTOCK,

Have you ever heard of the OysterQuartz?

It seems that the most good feedback we hear on this site is that Dallas has excellent customer relations.

New York has a reputation for not being as easy to deal with, but things change over time, so it's not easy to say for sure.

I've heard good things about the independent one in San Francisco.

The one in Beverly Hills seems to have a good reputation, too.

New York

I was emailing with their service manager at New York so I think I’ll send it there. Thanks to everyone that replied.

I live in norther NJ, about 40 minutes from NYC. When I got my GMT Master II and decided to have it serviced I looked into the RSC in New York first. Too many bad stories, while Dallas seemed to be stellar. I sent it to Dallas and they exceeded my expectations. Zero problems, timely return, and the kind of quality work one would expect from an official RSC.

If you want your work done by an RSC rather than an independent watch maker, I highly recommend Dallas.
