I just ordered one for a 16760. I guess the caseback ball won't work for tightening these either. (I'm not concerned with pressure testing)

Sure, it will work as well as it does for any other back.

The nice thing about Preik's though, is that it uses a standard Rolex back wrench, unlike others that only simulate the look.

It looks so good with the movement exposed.
I'd like to know who did/executed the change of the case back ? Did you do it yourself ?

I did mine myself. If I ever need to take it in for service I can just put the original back on.

I know a lot of folks say the Rolex movements aren't very pretty but I just like to see the mechanics of things... Ugly or not.

If you place an order, it will be shipped as normal. I think he simply doesn't check his mail box etc.

I agree. Maybe not the greatest on replying to emails but he places orders the next day. I've heard his return policy is good too. Honestly though, his product is excellent.

I just ordered one from him recently. No problems whatsoever.

So after having mine for over three years now, while I love the idea of being able to see my movement. And it is a great product... I don't use the priek caseback. I found that the extra 1 mm in thickness made the watch stand a little too high off my wrist for my liking and I just couldn't get used to it.

I just ordered a clear caseback for my 16710. My Zenith El Primero Chronomaster has a clear back and I'm looking forward to installing one on my Rolex.

I've had these on for about 5 years now with no difficulties. The ones on the 1675 GMT and the 16570 EXII are from Thomas and the other two are from Smarty Jones. Hadn't really thought about it til now but they all could use new gaskets;

I really enjoy watching these little machines do their work and have the glass backs on most that will fit one. Nothing like a fire, a single malt and watch the balance do it's dance. :)

It took over two months to get here, but my caseback from Thomas Preik finally arrived! Thomas mailed it on October 22, and it arrived December 23. I was concerned the fraction of a millimeter in additional height might be a problem, but I can't tell the difference in how it feels on my wrist from the stock caseback.

I love it.

Looks great.

I have never had an issue with the thickness-of-a-sheet-of-paper difference in thickness either.
