I see comments regularly from on here loving on your G Shock as a “beater watch” (travel/explore/hiking/beach watch)

I think my Rolex can handle anything- but if a guy was going to consider buying a G Shock is there anything I should know? Which model? Features?

Some awful reviews online, but I figure all the Rolex lovers in here would have a realistic “take” for me.
