A very close call indeed...

Yesterday, I headed into Tokyo with thoughts of trading my SS black-dialed Daytona, but thankfully I wore it and after just a short train ride and a bit of obsessive photo taking, I saved myself from myself and I still have my Daytona. Close call! There's just something special about the black-dialed SS Daytona that a sunny day after a morning Spring snow brings out.

Great call Otto!

If you don't mind me asking what were you planning on trading it for?

I had been toying with the idea of trading it for a 116509 WG Daytona with the so-called "panda" dial or, in the alternative, the 116509 WG Daytona with the gray dial and white Arabic numerals. I had also considered trading it for the 116528 with the Panda dial; but I already have a 116528 and I talked myself out of that one. In either case, there would have been a serious price delta unless I also would have chosen to trade my SS white-dialed Daytona along with the black-dialed version; which oddly enough, I was also considering.

Just the typical WIS mind games with myself...

Perhaps you can explain to the train company that you should be entitled to a refund on your train ticket since you decided not to trade your watch?

Definitely a 'sign' Otto! Glad you decided to hold on to that beauty!

I'm guilty of some 'impure' thoughts myself regarding trades...sometimes it just takes some quality time with the watch in question to realize just how much it would be missed if we let it go! Good for you

If you had done it you might be a lot happier.
After all you are getting the same family tree.

What were you thinking about trading for?

I miss Tokyo. I've been there twice. My wifes entire family lives there. Hope to get back soon

The bolded line is perfect. LOL... I stay up at night playing games like that, trying to figure out what trades I can make!! LOL
