Cocktail of Choice

Currently sipping on a Gin & Tonic (Tanqueray & Q-Tonic w/ aromatic bitters and lime) and I got to thinking two things:

1) What else is everyone drinking on tonight?
2) What is your go-to cocktail?

In college, you wouldn’t find me caught dead with a bottle of gin. My go-to at that time was a whiskey and coke.

However, this year I had multiple instances of business travel to London (my first time to London) and I quickly realized that, damn, I love gin. Ha!

I’ve come to appreciate the complexities and varieties of gin as well as quickly developing an understanding that quality tonic makes quite a difference. Although - as with most cocktails , quality alcohol, in this case, gin, also makes an enjoyable difference, too.

So, cheers TRF! - let’s hear what we all enjoy and/or share some cocktail recipes. Bonus points for G&T recipes ;)

Ah, I would say that is probably my #2 - a quality, well made, Old Fashioned.

Two lumps of ice....tonic optional.

I don’t drink cocktails often, but when I do, I have a Mojito.

In the summer I’ll make Paloma’s, Martini’s and Gin and Tonics. Winter and fall are pretty much reserved for straight bourbon or red wine.

My two favorites are an extra dirty vodka martini (preferably with blue cheese stuffed olives) and a spicy blood Mary.

I often order a Screwdriver with Bourbon instead of Vodka. I call it a Phillips Screwdriver.

Cocktail of Choice

Not drinking tonight as I a drink socially when out with friends.

I prefer rye whiskey with equal parts water but that’s not a cocktail.

My go to cocktail is a Rob Roy. I have been told it’s a grandma’s drink

Not at all just someone we can't trust

Honestly preference is bourbon on ice (which makes me a bum but whatever) but if its a cocktail I like

2 parts bourbon of choice
1 part honey simple syrup
chopped strawberry
juice from half lemon

shaken over ice, strained over a large cube. Garnished with a lemon peel.

Wine, red & white. If I feel a bit eccentric I'll go with Rosé.

Not really a drinker, but every now and then at an occasion I will have a either a screw driver, Sprite with Vodka, or the old stand by Rum and Coke.
