Carefully cleaning an IWC over my bathroom sink. Of course I dropped it in the sink and thought it would be a mess but not a mark. That's about it.

I fell down on a brick floor, scuffing one link on the band pretty badly. I think it’ll buff out when I get it serviced down the line.

Thankfully, I didn’t break any bones.

Have learned the hard way that watches on straps are easier to drop than watches on bracelets. Slippery little suckers.

Roles is a tough watch.
The Rolex 'shock' test is under controlled conditions and is not the same as dropping a watch 4 ft onto a hard surface.

The point of impact in an uncontrolled fall is is the important factor?

It seems to be fine. I put it back on the winder to leave it alone a few days. I wearing my Zenith El Primero for now. I'll put the Daytona back on in a few days and hopefully time is still good and hopefully I can forget this close call. Nice to see you guys were in this with me and told some of your stories.

Was in Nashville a couple years ago for NYE with my YM 116622. One of the nights I had way too much to drink. Woke up the next day and had some nice deep scuffs on the bracelet and one of the lugs (6 o'clock side of the watch). No clue how it happened. Fun weekend, great city! Still have the scuffs and they remind me of that trip. Can't decide if I should have them repaired when its service time.

That's actually probably not bad! So, I'm sharing my "oh crap" moment. Tell us about yours so I don't feel so stupid. BTW: it seems to be working fine and I haven't found any noticeable damage. A couple pics of my goof.
Think some of you guys have to get over the fact that all Rolex are just watches nothing more. And in the real world quite strong and need no pampering like most of today's watches are today. You should have seen my working tool SD after well over 600 hours underwater that was used and sometimes abused for a few years, would give most guys today a heart attack.

This one was perhaps the most memorable, the guy had it serviced a few months earlier then fell with his bike...

I can imagine he wasn't too happy, luckily the case wasn't too damaged.

My Tudor GMT's introduction to the bathroom tile floor in Feb '19

Luckily only had to replace the bezel and bezel insert. Got off relatively easy.
