Good Deeds, GO!

List a good deed you've done in the recent past or about to do for another?

A neighbor lost her husband about two years ago and her yard was in need....I trimmed her hedges and blew off the leaves (fall cleanup). She still wondering who did it!

I just love doing good deeds!!!

My attempt at raising the level of topics here, as of late......

I raffled off a bottle of bourbon yesterday to support the local foodbank.

Besides being a regular donator to our local food bank I cut my neighbors lawn last summer when he lost a toe ~ you guessed it ... cutting his lawn.

Yikes my tenant lost his leg to the knee from a kick to his lawn mower! Very nice!

I'm not going to list any particular good deed - because I don't think anything I have done has been special enough to ask for any type of credit.

I typically try to always be there for people whether it's for a friend, a neighbor, or just when I see a stranger in need.

It's helped me get through some tough times of my own being there for other people. Hopefully my little acts of kindness have an impact on someone's life, could be just for that moment or maybe it has a ripple effect, no idea, but when my time comes (hopefully a long time from now) I think I am on the track to do more good than harm.

Well put! Thank you for helping make my point of being nice doing good deeds and helping others!

Plan to fill up a shopping cart with toys for the Toys for Tots campaign. I hear donations are down this year.

I like your decision to start an uplifting topic. Your story reminded me of something I noticed on Thanksgiving. But it began almost a year ago.

I run a route every so often along a bust State Hwy. and use side walks wherever possible. Along the route an new subdivision of modest homes was built. Over a year went by and they never cleared their sidewalks of leaves, branches and Pinestraw. Eventually it became overgrown with weeds, shrubs, etc. I could have called in a code violation but instead...

I went myself with rakes, limb loppers, shovels and saw and cleaned one sidewalk I needed to use on a dangerous curve. It took a couple visits back in the Summer. I left the other sidewalk alone as it was much more difficult to clear. OK - good deed but with an ulterior motive...

On Thanksgiving during my virtual Peachtree Road race I came by the neighborhood - lo and behold - the HOA (or some other Good Samaritan) had cut the overhanging trees and vines and brush on the other side!

So half-good deed raised someone to do the other half

This!!

I try to help others as often as possible. The simplest acts can create sparks in others to give. Just try to be the best person you can be and you’ll be surprised how much it enhances your own life. Everything I have given has come back to me more than double in one way or another.

Nice thread.

With all the stupid stuff that humans do to each other it is refreshing that part of "most" people's DNA, is the good feeling they get from helping other people.

I love the pay it forward concept. Don't repay me, pay it forward.

Karma is such a wonderful concept.
