New Ceramic 126610lv VS old 16610lv

Was about to grab an old lv but guess will be holding off for now

Anyone thinks the prices for the old lv (non ceramic) will start to come down as it does not make sense to pay that much if you can get the black dial and green bezel combination on the new 126610lv (new movement, ceramic) etc...unless one is into eg. the flat 4 or diff variation of green bezels...15 grand would be better spent on this new lv perhaps?

Wats your take? 15 grand on old lv or grab the new 126610lv

No, the prices on any Rolex will never come down, nor will anybody be able to retire because they have last-years model.

If you have 15 grand to spend on a watch, you should be able to choose which watch you like better.

Spending 15K on a sub sounds a bit much! In any case, I don't see the 16610LV pricing softening because of the new Kermit. Remember what happened with the new BLRO; it drove the 16710 pricing up and quite significantly for that matter.

Prices will possibly go up since its the original release from the beginning with a green insert first time on a Submariner. It has the maxi dial in old case with slim lugs etc. It will be a collector piece soon.

All now redundant 40mm Subs should be upgraded immediately to the 41mm version.

Greys will not lower prices, rather the opposite so there will have to be a long sustained period of no demand before they reluctantly move the price down.

which do you like better?
which fits your wrist better?
longer power reserve or not?
better clasp or not?
original or not?

I think these are questions you should be asking

Prices would seriously have to nose dive on the 16610LV for anyone who bought them new from a AD for this to be anything to worry about ( presuming they wouldn’t be too worried anyway ) . I highly doubt this would happen ever , but buyer market demographics do change over time & what’s desirable today may not be in 5,10, 20 or 40 years but then the reverse might happen & they become even more desirable & push prices even higher . Isn’t desirability a fickle fish .

Check out the Black bay green bezel Harrods edition...I don’t know, Tudor just makes sense at the current prices for Rolex IMO.

Grey market won’t do this. It’s really up to you but the new LV is miles a better watch.

Ever consider 116610LV the hulk which is arguably the best out of the three?

I have both and love the 116 more than the 126 mainly because of the dial. I love the new changes to the 12 but a black dial really mutes the new LV so those that think the 11 is too much green then I get it. Those that love the discontinued LV, then I feel you too.

No way man. The old one is a completely different beasty. Those who want them aren't going anywhere.
