Since wearing this thing the past week or so a few immediate impressions...

1) It's heavy but in a good way! Almost makes wearing my sub or DJ41 feel like a child's toy.

2) Yellow gold is surely magical or nuclear. I mean the way the watch glows and feels on my wrist...so hard to describe but it's real.

Glad to be a member of this thread!

Your first point is very well taken. Not saying I don’t still enjoy my SS and TT pieces, but the weight of full PM watch sure puts things into perspective.

Hi everyone! A dealer is offering me this, he says it's 1803 but there are a few things I'm kinda concerned (sorry too new to post links)

imgur com/Y5Kdm3L

Looks like both the dial and the datewheel are replaced? The dial has "Swiss Made" which I don't think exist in 1803, and the datewheel font is much thicker than I usually se.. Also it comes with the hidden clasp bracelet. Is this a valid configuration for a 1803?

Here’s the image (and you can attach pics even as a new member, - If responding use the Post Reply button, resize the pic to under 293kb, and the paper clip icon to attach).

I’m no expert, but I think you are correct that the Swiss Made 1803 dial is a service dial, and the day (not date) wheel looks wrong. I believe the hidden clasp bracelet was offered on the later 1803s, though. Do you know the serial number?

You should start a new thread in the Vintage Forum to get better info, good luck!

Nowadays, can you order a 228235 RG Chocolate with minimal wait at AD? Looking to add one to my collection.

Incredible beauties in this thread. The DD shows off its prestige being simple but essential. It doesn't matter from which era it may come from. I personally have a soft spot for the 5-digits for the variety of dials, especially serti-ones and the variety of finishes and configurations. But the contemporary DD40s as shown (green/chocolate dial!) have their own luster and their own divine heaviness.

Like most cases, it depends on your AD and of course the dial. I ordered one late last year and was told it would be up to 3 months but I received it in 3-4 weeks. Olive green is probably not going to happen due to demand.
