Tough choice! The Aquanaut probably, like that model and it has a date.

What mm is the aquanaut? I have an 8.5 inch wrist so would go for whatever wears bigger

I just don’t get the Aquanaut. I know it’s a Patek, it’s iconic and it’s detail and finishing are on another level. But the look of it isn’t for me.
That particular Daytona is the best one in the line-up as far as I’m concerned. |

Daytona, and not just because it’s a Rolex forum. I like Patek but the aquana doesn’t do it for me. That Daytona, though, is the best looking of all the Daytona models IMO.

I changed my mind.. Daytona among those two. But if Aquanaut was in RG I’d go with that.

Daytona looks nicer objectively speaking. Aquanaut becomes much nicer with the complications and i would pick a 5164a over any Oysterflex based Rolex

The Daytona in a heartbeat.
I like the newly released Aquanaut with the orange accents, but that's a different watch altogether. |

Daytona. If going Patek as my one-and-only daily watch, the Aquanaut wouldn't be it.

As a daily, the Aquanaut is going to be more comfortable because it is very light and thin with a date function. However, the Daytona, with its ceramic bezel, will be more scratch resistant to everyday wear and tear. Both beautiful watches so it's really up to you.

The Daytona. For me it is an easy choice.

I am actually in the process of trying to decide which one to pick, I have been offered brand new Aquanaut or brand new 116519 LN, tough decision.
I have actually owned the Aquanaut before and loved it, never had a Daytona though so maybe it is time for one. |

Patek — date is more useful.

Works better with a attires, probably the only rubber strapped watch you should wear with a suit. The ceramic bezel makes the Daytona sportier.
