Explorer 2 stopped working!?

Dear friends I would like your suggestion pl.
My explorer 2 which I bought in Dec 2015 from iconic watches, Blackburn,UK stopped working suddenly today. I tried winding it completely but still not working. There was no fall or bang on the watch what I could recollect. I am really worried. The watch is still under warranty period (5 years). I am the 2nd owner of this watch though all the stickers were intact when I purchased the watch. It has Portugal dealer stamp on it. I have all the warranty card and box.

How do I go about pl? Should I contact iconic watches? Or Rolex UK?
I value your suggestions and guidance.
Thank you. Kind regards

Update: I spoke to iconic watches from whom I purchased this watch. They asked me to bring the watch with warranty card. They told me that they would send it to Rolex for repair and it can take up to 12 weeks. Once it is done the watch will be returned to my address.
Does it sound ok?
Should I do anything else? Unfortunately I have to part my watch for more than 3 months.

Sounds reasonable; it used to be a month turn around but I don't believe that is the case anymore. Going through them will save shipping costs.

I would expect 3 months to be WORST case scenario. Usually they will get it back sooner.

Make sure they are sending to Rolex, not some "in-house" service. I don't believe Rolex will honor the warranty should you need them in the future if someone other than Rolex has opened it previous.

Thanks and I take your point. I did clarify that with the seller. They told me that the watch would be sent to Rolex for service. After servicing the watch would be returned to me directly from Rolex. I shall confirm this once again before I hand over my watch to them.

Will they do full service or just repair work?

Automatic watches need little if any winding. Even if it is dead you can just put it on and it will start ticking. You may wish to wind it a turn or two, but any more winding is just causing unnecessary wear and tear.

I always thought that it was good to wind your watch fully (not just once or twice) if it is dead before wearing it.

Of course it is.

No wonder people get confused when they read ignorant posts like this.

Awesome. Thanks.

I wanted to make sure because I just told a friend to wind his. He has literally just been putting on his automatic watches and not winding them. He said that they just start working when he wears them.

This will work out and you will have a great watch back on your wrist.

You can also ask for the tracking number and call Rolex to confirm receipt.

Explain to me what good it does to manually wind a watch when there is no need for it. It is simply extra wear and tear for no good reason and to be honest I consider it a counter productive habit that will lead to premature wear and breakage.

Treat your watch with respect and it will give you many years of good service.

The above response raises a question. This is for people with automatic watches with power reserve indicator.

Have you noticed the power to be full without winding the crown but just by daily wear?

Let us wait for forum members to chime in

Another question. What difference does it make whether the power reserve is full or not? If you are wearing the watch every day and it does not stop, then what is the problem?

If you insist on having the power reserve full, then all you are doing is putting more wear on the mainspring than is necessary, not to mention the added wear incurred by manually winding your watch.

This ^^^ is why I prefer to buy a new watch (not used) or a new car for that matter. That way I know exactly how it has been treated from day one. I would not want an automatic watch that had spent years fully wound on a watch winder, or an automatic watch that has had frequent unnecessary manual winding.
