Would never have a Sub date on anything other than its bracelet, and would never remove the Cyclops ever !

Once they add a date window and change up the lume color, a BB58 will look almost just like this

Nice! I thought I remembered you having these welded. Really cool mods, glad to hear you’re still enjoying it!

Sorry to ask, but why would one have the lug bars welded to the watch? Is it some sort of historical reference, or for the purpose of rigidity? Really don’t know, but I definitely dig the watch!

The Military Submariners had fixed bars so it’s a throw-back to that.

It’s very cool. And I want!!

Remember this one. I like it when folks take things into their own hands and create something special. I’d like to get a Smurf and shave the lugs down to a reasonable shape.

I dig it! Not a fan of NATO's aesthetically, but I use them just about every time I do any sort of physical activity with a watch (hiking, swimming, etc.) - I love their functional usefulness and the added safety they provide. And I applaud the modifications! The lack of cyclops looks great!

Hi Jason, why did you choose (or previous owner choose) to use a Daytona crystal instead of a (no date) submariner crystal? Is there a difference in slope or something? Thanks and looks great!

Very nice and great idea with the welded bars for diving, must feel a lot safer.

I’d love to see shaved crown guards on an old 5513

I didn’t make the choice. It was determined that the desired outcome was a watch without a cyclops. It was left up to ABC Watchwerks to accomplish this outcome. They decided to use the Daytona crystal. If I trust a watchmaker entity, I leave it up to them to decide how to accomplish the desired look/function that I want.

They have put Daytona crystals on a couple of my Subs.

Great watch Jason. Glad you picked it up.

Like the idea of welding the springbars in, a lot. As you mentioned the midcase was modified beyond returning to original when the CG’s were ground off. And you use it to dive so the extra security was worth it.

Interesting.
What are the advantages to having no crown guards?

Only advantage I can think of is the fact that I can more easily access the crown while on the wrist for time setting or date change. There are more disadvantages probably.........but this was a nod to pay tribute to the 6538 Big Crown.
