116515 on casual clothes?

Hi guys!

I am in the market for a rolex on rubber. I have a hulk and recently got a bluesy. I absolutely love the gold (although I was not a gold guy before). I am now feeling like my hulk and bluesy are very similar. So I am thinking to move it on for something gold on rubber.

I am debating between the 116655 and the 116515 on OF. I dress mostly casual...shorts, jeans on sneakers. I know the 116655 looks great on casual clothes, but it is similar to the sub. Enter the 116515. Pictures make it seem quite dressy. Can anyone post pictures of it on casual clothes? Trying to do some recon before making another move.

Its a versatile watch, both sporty and dressy, even on the leather, I wore it casually with t-shirts all the time.

Great for casual, no hesitation.

Can always be pulled off in business casual suit IMO as well with.

The only question is which dial!

A watch is just a watch and no need to wear any special cloths, the watch will not know or care whatever any person is wearing.

Nothing on an OF spells “dressy” IMHO.

I think a DD on a RubberB goes casual just fine, so the models you’re considering would too.

The most lowkey casual on rubber watch from Rolex would be the 116519LN

It's a dream watch! Love the dial and I don't think a single picture does it justice

It's not WHAT you wear so much as HOW you wear it.

Absolutely. I think chocolate dial and black dial are more casual looking than the pink dial with black subdials, but there is no wrong choice here.

Between the two I would go for the 116515. For me it's a far more beautiful watch than the YM.

You're walking around with a 20k+ watch on. It doesn't matter what you're wearing. Who is going to tell you any different?

Here is my old 116518 and my current 126655 with casual clothes. They both look great dressed down. I think the rubber puts them on the sportier side, but I never had an issue dressing them up either.

I have a TT daytona and a 126655. I feel the daytona is dressier as it's smaller and has a lower wrist presence. The rubber actually makes the the YM feel really casual to the point I find myself grabbing the daytona for any smart casual and above but below black tie occasions.

In this thread there is a daytona on leather strap, that looks like a killer combo for what OP wants.

In my humble judgement, you can wear any style watch with casual attire.

The choices of watches becomes much more constrained when wearing a suit or formal attire, although almost no one pays any attention to those constraints these days.

Going to a black-tie affair, why not wear that JC Deep Sea, right?

Looks great with whatever you wear. I'll wear a reverso with shorts and a shirt and a sub with a suit.

Both really solid, under appreciated choices. I'm a big YM fan myself, so I want to lean that way, but that specific Daytona is tits, as well.

It's a gold watch so obv will never be casual and always somewhat opulent. But a rubber strap will make it look less like a Rolex and more of a random gold coloured watch. Which helps keep things low key. I have my sub on a tropic rubber strap and it looks like any old Seiko unless you studied it. Perfect for my casual wear.

I cant think of anything better than seeing a guy with a $50000 watch on his wrist while he's dressed like he's had to leave the house in a hurry during a house fire
