Nicknames

I second “Cermit” for the new Ceramic Kermit, and propose “Policeman” for the Black and Blue WG. Or maybe “Cop”? What do you guys think?

I think that we're using up a lot of Forum bandwidth.

Why not just post in the many we already have?

Can we start to ban these? These make me miss the investment threads.

Nicknames are dumb.

They've evolved into something fun and playful, into something tedious and exhaustive.

I'm usually super tolerant, and am part of the younger crowd, but this is getting out of hand!

i prefer value, investment, and rumors threads, which have been locked recently, over these nicknaming threads.

Which nickname do you think will make the new sub the best investment?

Seems like a better use of bandwidth than an “incoming” post for the millionth time followed by a bunch of replies that read “congrats. Wear it in good health” but I guess everyone has an opinion. Who killed your joy? It’s fun to come up with nicknames

This obsession with nicknames is a sign of some kind of societal arrested development.

It has seemed to me that some watches earned a nickname after an organic process that proceeded over the course of years without the benefit of social media.

Now we're discussing nicknames before these watches are even available for sale.

I would think that this activity is more suited to kindergarten than a luxury watch forum.

That's my nickel's worth of input.
