blue vs. silver 116234

hello TRF, maybe this kind of thread has been discussed before... or not. What is your favorite? blue dial or silver dial 116234 DJ36 (with batons)?

Silver has always been my favorite. Next, I prefer black over blue.

You really can't go wrong with either. Both are equally nice.. Silver more classic and versatile, blue more sporty and 'younger look' imo.

I bought my mom and wife both 116234s. My wife got a black dial and my mom a blue dial. Both are stunning! I never really even considered silver.

Rolex does such a great job on its sunburst dials that you can't go wrong either way. Silver is probably more versatile. The blue dial would be great for adding some color to an existing color. Both are nice IMO

Tough choice silver is great, but i find the blue on the 36 isnt same blue on the dd2 or 41. Maybe we should throw in the white dial as well!

I narrowed my choice down to either a silver or blue dial with batons.
Opted for the blue and it's absolutely gorgeous!

I like both dials, however, I prefer silver if an only watch and blue as part of a collection.

Rolex blue is gorgeous but the silver so classic and versatile. I voted silver but you cant go wrong either way.

Both are great. But the other day I was at an AD in Amsterdam trying both. The AD lady said about the silver one "it looks boring, we had seen it so much over the years". Strange comment... and I must say it oriented my taste quite a bit. Even though the silver looks amazing.
The blue is so nice on the DJ. But I'm wandering if it's just a fashion thing these days, which will change over the years or get old too quickly...

Tough call bc blue is just beautiful. Daily wearer I would vote silver in this case. True classic.

Both are great. I wish the silver came with the roulette date wheel as I love that. Since it doesn't I honestly think I'd go blue between those two to get it. But personally, I think I'd choose white for myself. It's the closest to silver in how it looks/feels on the wrist, both being light colored dials, but gives you the roulette date.

Not sure why that every other red date in,beer is so appealing, but if I get another DJ I want it.

While I love blue, as there are many options now for this dial, I would look to a silver or white dial where possible to broaden a collection out.
