If you could ask Rolex to make you a custom watch, what would it be?

So, picture this. You win a competition and the prize is that Rolex will make you any custom watch you wish, as long as it is a feasible variation on an existing design (so not some complete fantasy model). This variation would then become an official Rolex model for sale to the public in 2020.

Mine would undoubtedly be a 40mm Sky Dweller, a couple of mm thinner at 11mm, with a brushed titanium bracelet and a slightly less fluted/crinkled case (maybe 70% as fluted as currently). As a final wish, I would love the beautiful watch face in Rhodium Grey.

My reasoning for this is that as beautiful as the SD is, it is a touch too big for me people as a daily wearer. Also, I am not a fan of blingy polished bracelets and prefer a more stealthy brushed look, not to mention the lightness that Titanium provides. Also, the current model is a little too fluted and busy for my tastes, I would prefer less crinkle. Finally, Rhodium Grey is a sartorially versatile colour that goes with pretty much any attire.

What would you ask for?

Good question. I like the smaller skydweller idea. I have tried the current version on in various colours and metals but despite having a large enough wrist I just can't love the thickness. Maybe a 42mm but thinner skydweller would work for me but I like the sound of your 40mm version

I would love a SS Submariner with something similar to JC Deep Blue dial.

My wrist is around 7" and for me it's too big and noticeable and doesn't fit under my average shirt cuffs, which is is a huge problem for me. 40mm and thinner with less bling would just be perfect. :)

I'll have a SS Submariner Date with a dark blue bezel and dial, with 'Submariner' text in red thanks.

The return of a modern 40mm Explorer 2 would be awesome

I'd have them modify my 116520 so there's AR on the underside of the crystal, and change the hash marks around the edge of the dial so instead of being 1/5 of second increments, they're 1/4 second increments so the chrono second hand lines up with them.

Interesting idea but it’s a busy enough dial for my eyes at 42mm

How about the CHNR Rootbeer with a TT rose gold jubilee. That would be awesome. Does Rolex make a TT rose gold jubilee?

If you could ask Rolex to make you a custom watch, what would it be?

Submariner Date with slimmer lugs

Edit : Like the one above, I’d buy one instantly.......only if they became available without going on a waiting list

SkyDweller with option of jubilee or president bracelet. Love the watch but to me something about the PCL Oyster on that bezel that I’m still not head over heels in love with.

I'd order a SS Sky Dweller with a black dial. There is a rumour that Rolex already make these but I have seen no evidence to support this, past postings on the web, which can be easily faked.

Skydweller on president bracelet is a great idea.

I would love a platinum submariner. Ice blue dial, brushed bracelet on glidelock, all platinum. That would be pretty cool-

I'd love a stainless steel Submariner with the dark blue bezel and dial, like my Tudor Sub. Not the smurf blue, but the metallic blue.

Submariner and GMT with 5 digit-style case (no maxi case and maxi lugs) with midnight blue ceramic bezel and dial that look black except in sunlight/bright light with oyster bracelet. The Submariner dial would have a deep blue to black fade like the JC SD.

That's easy...something I've dreamed about for years.

The modern 216570 case and bracelet with the dial, hands, and bezel of the 1655. I could die a happy man.

Submariner with new movement 42mm and slimmer lugs. Overall similar to new Yachtmaster 42 but with ceramic bezel and steel case. Red line would be nice bonus
