I don't personally like the green, I think it'd be near impossible to match with a work place attire, I'm a desk diver and am expected to wear suits. I actually think the LV line is ugly but it's a special watch so that's that. I'd skip the LV and do YM.

i didn't appreciate the old bracelet as much until i got a model with the new style...(116520) the old bracelet is bulletproof, it looks kind of cheap at the clasp but it is sturdy, reliable, can take a hit and then be tweaked back to use on the road. the new clasp as nice as it seems, feels like it is sturdy but if pushed to far it will break to the point of needing replacement. the cast (appears to be) parts have no flexibility in them and the spring just makes me nervous. just feels that way to me? ps: The new solid links are awesome as stretching should now be a thing of the past! (but ive read a lot of appreciation here for the lightness of the old style as well) |

At the time I got mine, I had the GMTIIC already and I wanted a Sub. The 16610 LV was the perfect choice as it was a bit different with the Green insert and I just didn't like the Green dial on the new ceramic version.
The little bit of green works for me.

Well, i repost to this thread to tell you my little photo story from green to black and then to green again
I had the black insert from day one but the green was grown on me more and more everyday. So i forgot it in the back of my drawer. Mr Kermit was like this One day i thought, what the heck let's change the insert. And the operation began a closer one everything apart close up on the teeth of the bezel watch with the bezel, the disc and the little spring back in position this time i took a different approach of changing the inserts and i installed it on top after i had put in position the bezel itself. Its a great and easy way to align the triangle of the insert in the 12 o'clock position et voila and on the wrist It's good to have options, but the black insert didn't work for me. This baby is for green insert. Maybe it helps the deep dark shade of the green, that makes it look better than it sounds: GREEN Thanks for looking |

I'm not a fan at all. I don't like the green bezel, I don't like the ROLEXROLEXROLEX rehaut, and I really don't like the FAT minute hand and the skinny hour hand.
And where are the lug-holes? |

Well--It is the one watch I have without Lug Holes(not inlcuding my 5513 Milsub of course). Here is my 2003 Flat Four-MK1 dial LV: Destined to be a classic even without the holes!!

I had one and sold it. No regrets. I just found it too hard to match up with clothes...

I would have liked to see it offered without the cyclops/date feature.

I really like it. Last year I went to buy the last one in my AD but they just sold it so I bought a black ceramic submariner instead.

LV is awesome. I'm an LN owner but often wonder if I could pull off the green. The green, slate serty (without diamonds), and bluesy all pop for me. Great piece. enjoy

I love everything about the LV I never wanted to buy a Sub because I have a Sea-Dweller I felt they just look to similar and I do not like the ceramic bezel so the LV is perfect I get a Sub, it doesn't look like a SD, and no ceramic.

Hated it when I first saw it but it grew on me so much I purchased an unworn 2010 model in August. Looks even better on.
Regarding the bracelet/clasp I've seen so many opinions, here is mine. Yes it feels light and cheap compared to the SMP...initially. I now find the bracelet attractive, comfortable. It keeps to your body temperature far more easily than the SMP bracelet and that is a massive plus point in my opinion. Also the higher grade steel means it is far less susceptible to scratches. A quality timepiece that turns heads wherever I go. |

I like it for a couple reasons.
Like others have said, the Sub is iconic, BUT, I like things a bit different. Hence the green works for me. AND, my eyesight isn't as it once was, so the Maxi Dial again works for me.

I have had it for a few weeks and can't be any more pleased. Great everyday watch as i particularly enjoy watches with no PCLs as my daily ones. GMT-IIc gets less wrist time now although i think it is equally great.
The maxi dial is great and the bezel is much better in real life than the pics. |
